REVERE PLASTICS SYSTEMS IN POPLAR BLUFF TO CLOSE
A Poplar Bluff factory will be closing down.
Revere Plastics Systems told employees on Wednesday that the Poplar Bluff facility will be closed.
An exact date for the closing of the facility was not available.
The Poplar Bluff facility worked on injection molding, shuttle molding, insert molding, and engineering according to the Revere Plastics Systems website.
MAN ARRESTED IN POPLAR BLUFF ON WARRANT FOR SEXUAL MISCONDUCT WITH A CHILD
A man has been taken into custody in Butler County on a warrant out of California.
According to reports from the Poplar Bluff Police Department, 22 year old Jacob Hayes, of St. Louis, was arrested late Tuesday night at an area business on a warrant for sexual misconduct with a child under 15 years of age.
There was no bond set on the warrant and Hayes was lodged in the Butler County Jail.
SOUTHEAST MISSOURI NATIVE INDUCTED TO THE ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME
A native of Southeast Missouri is now making her way to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The Hall of Fame announced on Wednesday that Sheryl Crow was one of seven inductees in the performers category, joining Willie Nelson, George Michael, and Rage Against the Machine, among others.
Crow was born and raised in Kennett, graduating from Kennett High School before attending the University of Missouri.
During her career, she has won nine grammy awards, including Best Female Rock Vocal and Record of the Year for βAll I Wanna Do.β
TWO POPLAR BLUFF STUDENTS CLAIM STATE CHAMPIONSHIP AT FBLA CONFERENCE
Two Poplar Bluff Students won a state championship during the Future Business Leaders of American state conference last month.
Bralin Duckett and Emma Tinsley placed first in business management, competing against 44 teams from across Missouri.
The students were given a case study, had 20 minutes to prepare without the use of any outside resources, then were given seven minutes to present their solution to a panel of judges,
A total of 48 PBHS students qualified for the state competition.
MODOT CREWS WORKING ON OUTER ROAD 67 IN BUTLER COUNTY
Outer Road 67 in Butler County will be closed today as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform ditch repairs.
According to officials, the closure will be located between Route M and County Road 474.
Weather permitting, work will take place today from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
BRIDGE MAINTENANCE SCHEDULED FOR TODAY IN STODDARD COUNTY
Route TT in Stoddard County will be reduced to one lane today as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform bridge maintenance.
The section of roadway being reduced is located from Route WW to Stanley Street near Dudley.
Weather permitting, work is scheduled for today from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
