SELECTION OF NEW POPLAR BLUFF CITY COUNCIL MEMBER DELAYED UNTIL AUGUST 21ST
It will be at least another two weeks before the vacancy on the Poplar Bluff City Council will be filled.
During the regular City Council meeting held Monday night, a motion was passed to table the selection of a new council member until the next open session on August 21st.
During a special session held last week, the council deadlocked on a motion made to appoint Billy DePew to fill the vacancy of an at-large seat caused by the resignation of Robert Duckett, who stepped down in June due to moving outside the city.
Another discussion was scheduled to be held regarding the seat in a closed session Monday night, but a motion was adopted at the end of the regular meeting to delay the selection until the next open session of the city council.
