At the scene, two juveniles told an officer that a white male had shot at them and then fled the scene.
An investigation resulted in 18 year old Damion Champion, of Poplar Bluff, being identified as a suspect. Contact was made with Champion on Monday when he said that one of the juveniles was about to fight his relative when he noticed one of the juveniles had their hand in a hoodie pocket.
Champion felt that the juvenile was making a motion to pull out a gun, so he pulled out his gun and fired one round in the general direction of the juveniles. The bullet struck the side of a nearby residence.
