CREWS RESPOND TO STORAGE TANK FIRE IN CAMPBELL AREA

Crews with the Campbell Volunteer Fire Department and Malden Fire Department responded to the scene of a fuel storage tank fire Monday night.

According to the Campbell Volunteer Fire Department, storage tanks containing over 10,000 gallons of diesel and gasoline were on fire off of H Highway.

Officials reported that there were several ruptures and small explosions visible. Crews were able to contain the fire so firefighters could reach the shut off valve and terminate the fuel to the fire.

No one was injured during the incident.

POPLAR BLUFF WOMAN SERIOUSLY INJURED IN CARTER COUNTY CRASH

A Poplar Bluff woman was transported to an area hospital Monday night after a crash near Ellsinore.

Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tell KWOC News that the 21 year old woman was driving on US Highway 60 when she struck something that was being towed by another vehicle.

The woman suffered serious injuries in the crash and was taken to a Cape Girardeau hospital. No injuries were listed for the driver of the other vehicle.

ARKANSAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AWARDED ALMOST 25 MILLION DOLLAR GRANT FOR CORNING BYPASS

The Future Interstate 57 project has taken another step forward thanks to a grant to construct a bypass in the Corning area.

The U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded a $24.9 million Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity grant to the Arkansas Department of Transportation to be used toward the construction of a 4-mile highway that bypasses U.S. Highway 67 around the west side of Corning.

The Corning Bypass will be a four-lane, fully controlled access facility that will include two interchanges with U. S. Highway 67. The project will provide an alternate route for commercial trucks around Corning’s downtown business district and will improve safety and quality of life for residents.

The Corning Bypass is part of the larger, multi-state effort to complete Future Interstate 57 between Walnut Ridge and Poplar Bluff.

DATE SET FOR DONIPHAN R-1 KINDERGARTEN AND PRE-K SCREENING

The Doniphan R-1 school district has set the date for screening for kindergarten and pre-kindergarten students.

According to school officials, screening will take place on Monday, March 17th.

To be eligible for pre-kindergarten, children must be four years old before July 31st, 2025. For kindergarten students, they must be five years old by that date.

BACH TO THE FUTURE RETURNS TO THE TINNIN FINE ARTS CENTER THIS WEEK

World renowned performers will be at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center this week performing classics from Bach, Beethoven, and Mozart.

Three Rivers College Patrons of the Arts will be presenting "Bach to the Future" beginning at 7 p.m. on February 7th.

Beloved classical favorites will be infused with modern jazz, along with African and Latin rhythms, all brought to life with unique, cutting-edge musical instruments.

BRIDGE MAINTENANCE TO CAUSE INTERSTATE DELAYS IN THE MATTHEWS AREA

Northbound Interstate 55 in New Madrid County will be reduced to one lane with a 14-foot width restriction this week as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform bridge maintenance.

The section of the interstate that is being reduced is located between mile markers 57.8 and 58.2 near Matthews.

Work will take place today and tomorrow from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
