CHAFFEE MAN ACCUSED OF FORCIBLY RAPING PREGNANT WOMAN
A Chaffee man is in custody after he allegedly forcibly raped a pregnant woman.
Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter tells KWOC News that the victim told authorities Friday evening that she had been forcibly raped by 21 year old Landon Klaffer that morning, and held against her will for the remainder of the day.
The victim, who was seven months pregnant, also said that Klaffer had displayed a machete toward her in an angry and threatening manner and physically assaulted her while holding her captive inside a residence.
Klaffer was arrested on charges of 1st degree rape, 1st degree sodomy, 2nd degree domestic assault, felonious restraint, and unlawful use of a weapon.

MAN FACING CHARGES AFTER ALLEGEDLY BEING FOUND WITH CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE AT CORRECTIONAL FACILITY
Authorities say a Hazelwood man is facing multiple charges in connection to his arrest Sunday morning in Wayne County.
Sergeant Clark Parrott with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tells KWOC News that 22 year old Kenneth Eubanks is facing a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance in a correctional facility.
Eubanks has also been charged with possession of under 35 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and speeding.
DEXTER RESIDENT ARRESTED ON DRUG WARRANT
A Dexter woman was recently taken into custody on a drug warrant.
According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 43 year old Debra Sue Brown was arrested on a warrant for possession of a controlled substance.
She was taken to jail and her bond was set at $22,500.
PIEDMONT WOMAN ARRESTED IN WAYNE COUNTY ON HYDROCODONE CHARGE
A Piedmont woman is facing a drug charge following her arrest Saturday night in Wayne County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 53 year old Kimberly Birchfield was arrested shortly after 11 pm Saturday on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance – hydrocodone.
She was taken to the Wayne County Jail following her arrest.
MAN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY ON WARRANT FOR POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
Authorities in Stoddard County say an area man has been arrested on a drug warrant.
The Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department tells KWOC News that 40 year old Bobby Dale Kemp, of Dexter, has been taken into custody on a warrant for possession of a controlled substance.
Kemp’s bond was set at $7,500.
SIX PEOPLE INJURED IN BUTLER COUNTY WRECK
Six people were injured Saturday night in a wreck on US 60 in Butler County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the wreck occurred when a vehicle driven by 19 year old Tristan King, of Roseburg, Oregon, was attempting to cross US 60 and was struck in the side by a vehicle driven by 40 year old Tracy Moore of Poplar Bluff.
Both drivers, along with three passengers in Moore’s vehicle, suffered minor injuries. A passenger in King’s vehicle received moderate injuries. They were all taken to a Poplar Bluff hospital following the wreck.
PAVEMENT REPAIRS SET FOR TODAY IN STODDARD COUNTY
Crews with the Missouri Department of Transportation will be in Stoddard County today for pavement repairs on Route N.
During the repairs, Route N will be reduced to one lane between Routes AB and Y.
Work is scheduled to take place today from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm.
