ONE DEAD, ANOTHER SERIOUSLY INJURED FOLLOWING WRECK NEAR DEERING  

A Bragg City man is dead following a wreck Saturday morning in Pemiscot County.

Sergeant Clark Parrott with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tells KWOC News that the wreck occurred when a vehicle driven by 53 year old Carolyn Lane, of Hayti, allegedly failed to yield and pulled into the path of a vehicle driven by 78 year old Carmen Munoz.

Munoz, who was reportedly not wearing a safety device, was pronounced dead a short time after the wreck. Lane suffered serious injuries and was transported to a Kennett hospital.

 

MAN CHARGED WITH INVOLUNTARY MANSLAUGHTER FOLLOWING RIPLEY COUNTY WRECK

 

An O’Fallon, Missouri man has been charged with involuntary manslaughter following a Sunday afternoon wreck in Ripley County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a nine year old boy was driving a Ford Expedition on a County Road near Oxly when the vehicle ran off the roadway, hit an embankment, and overturned.

The boy was ejected from the vehicle, as was a 14 year old boy and 37 year old Mitchell Morris, of O’Fallon. The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.

Morris suffered moderate injuries in the wreck. According to a Sergeant Clark Parrott, Morris has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, child endangerment, and allowing a person who had no legal right to drive a motor vehicle.

 

KENNETT POLICE INVESTIGATING REPORTS OF SHOTS BEING FIRED

 

Police in Kennett are investigating reports of shots being fired early Sunday morning.

According to the Kennett Police Department, shortly after 1:30 am Sunday, officers were dispatched to the Eagles Club in reference to shots being fired. When officers attempted to talk with individuals at the scene, everyone stated that they did not see or hear anything and no one was shot.

Less than an hour later, officers were dispatched to the corner of Baldwin and Commercial in reference to shots being fired. When officers arrived they heard shots being fired as well. Individuals at the scene however said they had not seen or heard anything.

ARKANSAS MAN REPORTEDLY FOUND WITH MULTIPLE CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES IN DUNKLIN COUNTY

 

A Rector man is facing multiple drug charges in connection to his arrest Friday evening in Dunklin County.

According to authorities, 23 year old Steven Kirkpatrick was taken into custody at around 5:30 pm Friday on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance for hydrocodone and oxycodone.

Kirkpatrick is also charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and failure to yield for emergency equipment.

 

DUDLEY MAN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY OVER THE WEEKEND ON DRUG CHARGE

 

A Dudley man was arrested Saturday afternoon on meth related charges.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 47 year old Harold Goodale was taken into custody on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

Goodale also reportedly had a misdemeanor warrant out of Stoddard County for passing bad checks.

 

POPLAR BLUFF MAN REPORTEDLY CAUGHT WITH CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE IN CORRECTIONAL FACILITY

 

A Poplar Bluff man is facing multiple felony charges following his arrest Saturday night in Butler County.

According to the Highway Patrol, 32 year old Travis Pinnell has been charged with felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance in a correctional facility.

Pinnell has also been charged with unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
