PLANE CRASHES OUTSIDE OF DEXTER  

Authorities are investigating the cause of a plane crash that occurred Monday morning in Stoddard County.

According to authorities the plane, a Cessna 150, crashed at around 4 am in a wooded area south of Dexter.

The pilot, John Launius, was the only person on the plane and he was taken to an area hospital following the incident.

 

ONE DEAD FOLLOWING TWO VEHICLE WRECK IN SCOTT COUNTY

 

A Chaffee man is dead in connection to a two vehicle wreck Friday afternoon in Scott County.

Sergeant Clark Parrott with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tells KWOC News that a vehicle driven by 68 year old Joseph Bucher, of Chaffee, was attempting to make a left turn when it pulled into the path of a motorcycle that was being driven by 55 year old Andy Conn, also of Chaffee.

Conn was pronounced dead a short time later by Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter.

 

THREE ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES AT POPLAR BLUFF MOTEL

 

Three men are facing charges following a drug bust Saturday at a Poplar Bluff motel.

Butler County Sheriff Mark Dobbs tells KWOC News that deputies responded to the motel Saturday night in reference to subjects smoking marijuana.

Deputies made contact with multiple subjects in a room and conducted pat downs. One of the subjects had a blue glass pipe with what appeared to be methamphetamine residue while another had a clear plastic bag with a crystal rock type substance inside it.

Three men, 39 year old John Jacobs, of Springfield, Missouri, 27 year old Matthew Oliver, of Marshall, Arkansas, and 21 year old David Harris, of Hector, Arkansas were each taken into custody on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

ONE KILLED AND THREE INJURED IN HEAD ON COLLISION 

 

A Northeast Arkansas man died Friday following a head on collision in Clay County.

According to the Arkansas State Police, 59 year old Donald Borsch, of Datto, Arkansas, was travelling south in the Northbound lane of Highway 211 when he collided with another vehicle.

Borsch was killed in the wreck. Three people in the second vehicle suffered injuries and were taken to area hospitals.

 

MISSOURI HIGHWAYS AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION TO MEET IN POPLAR BLUFF

 

The Missouri Highways and Transportation commission will be holding their monthly meeting tomorrow in Poplar Bluff.

The meeting will be held Wednesday at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center at Three Rivers College beginning at 8:30 am.

The meeting is open to the public and will feature a presentation on the extension of four-lane Route 67. There will also be a special presentation regarding Missouri's critical condition bridges and their local impact by a MoDOT representative during the meeting.

 

PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER NOTICE ISSUED FOR ELLSINORE

 

Citizens of Ellsinore are being advised to boil their water until further notice.

According to city officials, the city of Ellsinore has issued a precautionary boil water notice due to a water main break.

Anybody who is being served by the Ellsinore water system is advised to boil their water as a precautionary measure.

PAVEMENT REPAIRS TO CAUSE DELAYS TODAY FOR MOTORISTS IN STODDARD COUNTY

 

Route BB in Stoddard County will be reduced to one lane today and tomorrow as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs.

The work zone is located between Route K and Route M.

Work is scheduled to take place from 7:30 am to 3 pm both today and tomorrow.
