TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO ARREST OF POPLAR BLUFF MAN
A Wednesday night traffic stop resulted in a Poplar Bluff man being put behind bars.
Deputy Chief Jeff Rolland with the Poplar Bluff Police Department tells KWOC News that an officer conducted a traffic stop shortly before 10 pm Wednesday night in reference to an expired registration.
During the stop, the officer learned that the driver, 20 year old Brandon Phillips, had an active Butler County Warrant for a dangerous drugs related charge.
Phillips was placed in custody and lodged in the Butler County Justice Center on $100,000 cash bond.
SCOTT COUNTY SHERIFF ADVISES BUSINESSES TO BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR COUNTERFEIT MONEY
Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter tells KWOC News that two people were recently taken into custody in connection to a counterfeit money manufacturing case.
Walter says the couple was passing counterfeit money, ranging from $5 to $20 bills, throughout the area.

SPOOKFEST TO BE HELD THIS WEEKEND AT THE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB
The Boys and Girls Club of Poplar Bluff will be hosting Spookfest this weekend at the Club on South C Street.
The Boys and Girls Club tells KWOC News that Spookfest will be a safe, kid friendly zone with a haunted house and indoor carnival games. The event will run from 6 to 9 pm Saturday night.
The cost is free to club members and $2 for non-club members and adults.
AMERICAN LEGION TO HOST BREAST CANCER AWARENESS FUNDRAISER TODAY
The American Legion Post 153 in Poplar Bluff will be hosting a Breast Cancer Awareness Fund Raiser today.
The event will include a dinner and a silent auction at the Legion’s facility on Kanell Boulevard. The doors will open at noon for the silent auction with the dinner scheduled to begin at 5 pm.
ZALMA MAN ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE WARRANT
A Zalma man is facing a drug charge in connection to his recent arrest.
According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 25 year old Eric Lemons was arrested on a warrant for possession of a controlled substance.
His bond was set at $7,500.
BUTLER COUNTY AUTHORITIES INVESTIGATING ATV THEFTS
Authorities in Butler County are investigating multiple recent ATV thefts in the Harviell area.

RAIN CAUSES CANCELLATION OF WHOLE KIDS OUTREACH FALL FESTIVAL
The rain in the forecast for this weekend has caused the cancelling of a planned festival.
Susan Cooper with Whole Kids Outreach tells KWOC that the organizations Fall Festival scheduled for Saturday has been cancelled due to the forecasted weather.
BRIDGE MAINTENANCE CAUSING DELAYS IN DUNKLIN COUNTY
Motorists in Dunklin County should expect delays for the next few weeks on Route 412.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, Route 412 in Dunklin County is being reduced to one lane so contractor crews perform guardrail and guard cable repairs.
Route 412 between Routes NN and 84 will be reduced from 6 am to 7 pm through Saturday, November 14th.
