ENDANGERED PERSON ADVISORY CANCELLED FOR MISSING TEENAGER

  Updating a story we brought to you yesterday, an endangered person advisory that was issued last month for a missing West Plains teenager has been cancelled.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the advisory was issued on February 24th for 17 year old Cecilia “Ce-Ce” Downen.

Downen and 17 year old Damian Henry were believed to possibly be in the Poplar Bluff area.

The Highway Patrol says that due to new information, Downen is no longer believed to be endangered.

 

  NAMES RELEASED OF THREE ARRESTED IN CONNECTION TO PURSUIT

  Authorities have released the names of three people arrested in connection to a pursuit on Monday.

According to authorities, at approximately 12:40 pm Monday, a trooper initiated a traffic stop on U.S. 60 for a registration violation. A pursuit began and the suspect vehicle eventually slid off the road.

At that time, Damarcus Owens reportedly exited the vehicle and fired multiple shots at the trooper and fled the scene on foot. The trooper returned fire.

Another passenger, Laterrence Caldwell fled the scene on foot, while the driver, Damyon Caldwell, fled the scene in the vehicle.

All three were later taken into custody.

 

  CLARKTON WOMAN SERIOUSLY INJURED IN SINGLE VEHICLE WRECK

  A Clarkton woman was flown to an area hospital Tuesday night following a single vehicle wreck near Malden.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 28 year old Krista Bates was driving on Route MM in Dunklin County when she ran off the roadway and struck a guardrail.

Bates suffered serious injuries in the wreck and was taken by Air Evac to St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

 

  HIGHWAY PATROL TO HOLD SOBRIETY CHECKPOINT IN STODDARD COUNTY

  The Missouri State Highway Patrol has announced that they will be holding a sobriety checkpoint in Stoddard County.

Captain Jeffrey Vitale, commanding officer of Troop E, tells KWOC News that the checkpoint will be held sometime this month.

Vitale says the checkpoint will be conducted by the Highway Patrol in cooperation with local law enforcement agencies.

 

 

 

MODOT CREWS TO BE IN BUTLER COUNTY TODAY FOR BRIDGE REPAIRS

  Route B in Butler County will be reduced today as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform bridge repairs.

According to MoDot, work is scheduled to be performed today from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The work zone will be located between County Road 559 and Old Highway B.

 

  TREE TRIMMING TO POSSIBLY CAUSE DELAYS ON US 60

  Eastbound US 60 in Carter and Shannon Counties is being reduced to one lane this week while Missouri Department of Transportation crews cut brush and trim trees along the roadway.

The work zone is located from Route P in Carter County to Route W in Shannon County.

Weather permitting, work will continue from 6:30 am to 3 pm daily through Friday, March 10th.

 

  BRIDGE REPAIRS TO BEGIN TODAY ON HIGHWAY 53

  Route 53 in Butler and Dunklin Counties will be reduced to one lane beginning today so Missouri Department of Transportation crews can perform bridge repairs.

The bridge to be repaired is located over the Saint Francis River between County Road 218 and County Road 101.

Weather permitting, work will be performed today and tomorrow from 8 am to 3:30 pm.
