MAN WANTED OUT OF BUTLER COUNTY HELD IN NORTHEAST ARKANSAS
A man wanted out of Southeast Missouri is being held in Northeast Arkansas.
According to Clay County Sheriff Terry Miller, Monday afternoon Clay County deputies received word that a man wanted in Butler County and Doniphan for separate incidents involving a dispute over child custody was possibly in Clay County.
The man was identified as Jeff Resnik.
Deputies were able to locate Resnik and the children and Miller says that the children have been returned to their mother. Resnik is reportedly being held for Butler County.
MEETING SCHEDULED FOR THIS WEEK TO DISCUSS FLOOD RECOVERY IN CARTER COUNTY
A meeting has been scheduled for later this week to discuss flood recovery in Carter County.
Carter County Sheriff Richard Stephens tells KWOC News that the community meeting and briefing will be held at 6:30 pm Thursday to discuss long term recovery from the flooding as well as recap resources available and answer any public questions.
The meeting will be held at the Van Buren Community Center on D Highway.
THREE ARRESTED ON CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE WARRANTS IN STODDARD COUNTY
Three men have been arrested in Stoddard County on controlled substance warrants.
According to the Stoddard County Sherriff’s Department, 29 year old Stewart Barney, of Dexter, 28 year old Joseph Hurdle, of Dexter, and 27 year old George Dawson, of Bernie, were each recently arrested on a warrant for possession of a controlled substance.
Officials did not say if the arrests were connected.
The bond for Barney was set at $50,000, cash only, while the bonds for Hurdle and Dawson were $15,000. All three reportedly remained in jail as of this morning.
OVER 23 POUNDS OF MARIJUANA FOUND DURING TRAFFIC STOP NEAR CORNING
Authorities say that over 23 pounds of marijuana was found during a traffic stop near Corning.
Clay County Sheriff Terry Miller tells KWOC News that on Saturday an Arkansas State Police Trooper conducted the stop on Highway 67.
A passenger in the vehicle, identified as Cathy Summers, was found to have a felony arrest warrant out of Texas.
During a search of the vehicle, the trooper located 23.4 pounds of marijuana. Both Summers and the driver of the vehicle, Curt Ritchie, were placed into custody and taken to the Clay County Detention Center.
KENNETT MAN ARRESTED ON CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE AND RESISTING ARREST CHARGES
Authorities in Kennett say an area man was recently arrested on multiple charges.
According to the Kennett Police Department, early Friday morning officers arrested 27 year old Trask Laden, of Kennett, for possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest.
Laden was held at the Dunklin County Jail pending formal charges from the State Prosecutor's Office.
DISASTER RECOVERY CENTER OPENING TODAY IN ELLINGTON
A Disaster Recovery Center is scheduled to open today in Ellington
The center will offer in-person support to individuals and businesses in any of the 27 counties included in the Missouri federal disaster declaration for flooding and severe storms that occurred between April 28th and May 11th.
The center will be open from 9 am to 7 pm at the Ellington City Hall. The center is scheduled to be open through July 1st.

STODDARD COUNTY ROAD TEMPORARILY CLOSED FOR REPAIRS
A Stoddard County road is being closed this week for repairs.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, Route H in Stoddard County is being closed at the intersection of Route H and Route ZZ so crews can perform pavement repairs.
Work is scheduled to be done from 6 am to 6 pm daily through Thursday.
