DONIPHAN MAN KILLED IN NORTHEAST ARKANSAS WRECK
An area man has died following a head-on collision Thursday morning in Northeast Arkansas.
Officials with the Arkansas State Police tell KWOC News that the crash occurred shortly before 6 am yesterday when two vehicles collided on Highway 67 North in Clay County.
The driver of one of the vehicles, 62 year old Richard McGonigal, of Doniphan, was killed in the wreck. The other driver suffered unspecified injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
ILLINOIS MAN ARRESTED ON MULTIPLE FELONY CHARGES IN STODDARD COUNTY
Authorities in Stoddard County have arrested an Illinois man on multiple felony charges.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 27 year old Joshua Jones, of McClure, Illinois, was taken into custody yesterday morning on felony charges of tampering with a motor vehicle 1st degree and resisting arrest by fleeing.
Jones is also facing charges of careless and imprudent driving and speeding.
Following the arrest, he was held at the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Office.
FISK LIGHTED CHRISTMAS PARADE SET FOR THIS WEEKEND
Parade lights will be illuminating a Butler County city this weekend.
The Fisk Lighted Christmas Parade is scheduled to begin at 6 pm Saturday night, with line-up beginning at 5 pm at the Fisk school.
The parade will run through the city before ending at the Fisk Park where Santa will be available to take pictures.
WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA PROGRAM TO BE HELD AT MISSOURI STATE VETERANS CEMETERY
The Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield will be participating in the annual Wreaths Across America program this weekend.
During the ceremony a wreath will be placed on every grave in the cemetery. Families and friends of those interred as well as the general public are invited to attend the event.
The program will begin at 11 am Saturday at the Committal Shelter Pavilion in the cemetery.
KIWANIS NASHVILLE CHRISTMAS CONCERT SET FOR TONIGHT
The Poplar Bluff Kiwanis will be hosting a Christmas concert tonight to raise money for Kiwanis Bacon Park.
The Kiwanis Nashville Christmas Concert has been scheduled for 7 pm at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center. There will be performances from multiple artists, including Kyle Richards, Tiffany Ashton, Nathan Shore, Gabrielle Metz, Macy Mac, and Tristan Ashton.
General admission tickets are available for $10 and VIP Tickets, including food, drink, and the chance to hang out with the performers, are available for $25. Tickets can be purchased at the Poplar Bluff Chamber of Commerce and Whitworth’s Gift Chest Jewelers.
SOUNDS OF CHRISTMAS TO PREMIERE THIS WEEKEND AT THE PALACE OF PRAISE
A Poplar Bluff Church is preparing for their annual performance of a Christmas themed play.
The Palace of Praise is presenting the Sounds of Christmas beginning at 7 pm nightly from December 16th through the 19th.
Admission to the show is free, but you can also purchase tickets for a dinner theater experience and reserved seating for the show on the 17, 18th, and 19th.

BOMB THREAT HOAX HITS AREA COMMUNITIES
Emailed bomb threats were sent to business and schools across the nation on Thursday including some in Southeast Missouri and Northeast Arkansas.
A business in Sikeston reportedly received a bomb threat in an email and The Greene County Arkansas Office of Emergency Management says that a threat was also made to an area business, but did not elaborate if the threat was conducted over email or in some other manner.
Officials in Atlanta, New Orleans, and Anchorage, Alaska, say that businesses received emailed bomb threats Thursday that were part of what they believe is a nationwide hoax.
Police are working with the FBI to investigate every threat.
WAYNE COUNTY ROAD TO BE CLOSED TODAY FOR PIPE REPLACEMENT
Crews with the Missouri Department of Transportation will be in Wayne County today to replace a pipe under Route B.
Officials say that during the project, Route B will be closed between County Roads 315 and 339.
Work is scheduled to be performed today from 8 am to 3 pm, weather permitting.
