POPLAR BLUFF POLICE SEARCHING FOR MISSING MOTHER AND HER CHILD

Authorities in Poplar Bluff are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing mother and child.

Officials with the Poplar Bluff Police Department tell KWOC News that family members have reported that 32 year old Sara Brown and one year old Geneva Genova, of Poplar Bluff, left a family member’s residence on March 7th and have not been seen since.

Brown last spoke with a family member by phone on March 16th, but refused to provide her location. Family members have expressed concern for Brown and her child due to Brown’s increased paranoia and mental instability.

Brown is believed to be in the Osage Beach, Missouri area, travelling in a white 2009 Cadillac CTS bearing a Missouri registration CL2-G5X.

We have pictures of both Brown and her child available on our website and Facebook page.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to contact the Poplar Bluff Police Department at 573-785-5776.

RECALL ISSUED FOR SMOKE ALARM

A recall has been issued for over 450,000 smoke alarms that were sold in the US.

According to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission, the recall is for Kidde dual-sensor smoke alarms – models PI2010 and PI9010.

The commission says that a yellow cap left on during the manufacturing process can cover one of the two smoke sensors and compromise the smoke alarm’s ability to detect smoke, posing a risk of consumers not being alerted to a fire in their home.

The alarm was sold at Menards, Home Depot, Walmart and other department, home, and hardware stores nationwide as well as online at Amazon.com and other websites.

Consumers should remove the alarm from the wall/ceiling and visually inspect it through the opening on the side of the alarm for the presence of a yellow cap.

Consumers should not attempt to take apart the alarm, open the casing, or otherwise remove the yellow cap themselves. If a yellow cap is present, the consumer should immediately contact Kidde to receive instructions and request a free replacement smoke alarm.

Consumers can contact Kidde toll-free at 833-551-7739 or online at www.kidde.com.
