VICTIM IN STABLE CONDITION FOLLOWING CARUTHERSVILLE SHOOTING
A victim is in stable condition following a shooting in the Caruthersville area.
According to authorities, the victim was shot on Friday and later taken to a Memphis hospital. The identity of the victim has not been released.
54 year old Michael Chandler has been taken into custody and was held at the Pemiscot County Jail.
REWARD OFFERED FOR INFORMATION ABOUT DEXTER BURGLARIES
A reward is being offered for information in connection to a string of burglaries in the Dexter area.
According to the Dexter Police Department, an investigation is ongoing into numerous business burglaries since January 8th. The suspects are forcibly entering businesses and stealing money.
The Dexter Police Department has released multiple photos and videos related to the crimes that are currently available on the KWOC Facebook page.
A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrators.

MAN ARRESTED IN STODDARD COUNTY ON FELONY FLEEING AND METH CHARGES
Authorities in Stoddard County say that an area man has been taken into custody on multiple felony charges.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 26 year old Tommy Johnson, of Dexter, was arrested at around 11:30 pm Saturday night on felony charges of resisting arrest by fleeing and possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.
Johnson is also reportedly facing charges of careless and imprudent driving, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
ASPHALT OVERLAY IN BUTLER AND STODDARD COUNTIES TO BEGIN TODAY
Route 51 and Route B in Butler and Stoddard Countries will be reduced to one lane with a 12-foot width restriction beginning today as contractor crews perform shoulder widening and asphalt overlay.
According to MoDot, the section of roadway is located between the on/off ramps at Route 51/60 in Stoddard County to Business 60 in Butler County.
Weather permitting, work will take place from 6 am to 6 pm daily through Thursday, May 17th.
RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS FOR THE AREA ON TUESDAY
An incoming cold front is bringing risks of severe weather to our area for Tuesday.
According to a Hazardous Weather Outlook issued by the National Weather Service, there is a risk of severe thunderstorms for tomorrow as a strong cold front moves across the area. The storms may produce damaging winds, large hail and possibly a tornado.
Weather officials say that outside of thunderstorm activity, gradient winds from the south to southwest may gust 35 to 40 miles per hour at times on Tuesday.
BICYCLIST HIT BY VEHICLE IN DUNKLIN COUNTY
A bicyclist was struck by a vehicle Friday morning in Dunklin County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at around 5:45 am Friday morning in the Holcomb area.
A 55 year old bicyclist from Campbell was struck by a passing vehicle on Missouri Highway 25. The bicyclist suffered minor injuries and was transported to a Kennett hospital.
No information has been released about the vehicle involved in the incident, other than it was driven from the scene.
ARREST MADE IN SIKESTON ASSAULT INVESTIGATION
An arrest has been made in connection to a February assault in the Sikeston area.
Sergeant Jon Broom with the Sikeston Department of Public Safety tells KWOC News that 29 year old Thomas Knighten, of Sikeston, turned himself in to the Scott County Jail last week.
Knighten had been sought in connection to an assault on February 20th that left the victim with a gunshot wound to his upper leg.
Knighten is facing charges of assault 1st, armed criminal action, and unlawful possession of a firearm. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 17th.
MISSOURI ROUTE 114 IN STODDARD COUNTY TO BE REDUCED TODAY FOR BRIDGE REPAIRS
Motorists in Stoddard County are being cautioned to be on the lookout for road crews who will be at work throughout the county beginning today.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, Route 114 in Stoddard County will be reduced to one lane from 6 am to 4:30 pm today as crews perform bridge maintenance.
This section of roadway is located between Routes 25 and KK.
Crews will also be reducing portions of Routes N and E in Stoddard County today for repairs.
