MAN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN WAYNE COUNTY ON FELONY FORGERY CHARGE

A St. Louis man is facing multiple felony charges following his arrest Wednesday in Wayne County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 33 year old Christopher Feller was taken into custody at around 8:30 am Wednesday morning on felony charges of forgery and possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.

He is also facing charges of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and possession of less than 10 grams of marijuana.

Following the arrest, Feller was held at the Wayne County Jail.

 

ROADWORK TO CAUSE DELAYS TODAY IN STODDARD COUNTY

Route KK in Stoddard County is being reduced to one lane today as crews with the Missouri Department of Transportation partially overlay the roadway. 

MoDOT officials tell KWOC News that the section of roadway to be reduced is located from Route 114 to the end of state maintenance.

Work is scheduled to be performed today through 4:30 pm.

 

SIXTH ANNUAL PULL TAB DRIVE EVENT SCHEDULED FOR THIS WEEKEND

The 6th Annual Pull Tab Drive for Brandon Scott and Bryor Lacey has been scheduled this weekend.

The drive will be held from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday at the American Legion on PP Highway in Poplar Bluff.

The event will feature a sale of bake goods; pull tab bracelets, a silent auction, and a raffle.

MALDEN TEENAGER INJURED IN MOTORCYCLE WRECK

A Malden teenager was injured Wednesday afternoon in a motorcycle wreck in Dunklin County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the 17 year old male pulled into the path of a van on Highway 53 shortly before 1:30 pm. The wreck occurred around two miles north of Campbell.

The teen suffered moderate injuries and was transported to the Poplar Bluff hospital. No injuries were listed for the driver of the van.

 

SPRING JOB FAIR SCHEDULED FOR TODAY AT THREE RIVERS COLLEGE

Job seekers in Southeast Missouri will be at Three Rivers College today for the annual spring job fair.

The Butler County Community Resource Council is holding the Job and College Transfer Fair today from 10 am to 3 pm.

The event will be held in the Bess Activity Center on the Poplar Bluff campus of Three Rivers College.

 

CONTRACTS AWARDED FOR UPCOMING ROAD PROJECTS IN WAYNE AND PEMISCOT COUNTIES

Contracts were awarded yesterday for multiple road projects in Wayne and Pemiscot Counties.

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, an approximately 1.7 million dollar contract was awarded to Pace Construction for a bridge deck replacement on Route HH and a bridge replacement on Route Z, both in Wayne County.

The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission also awarded an approximately 1.8 million dollar contract to Apex Paving for pavement improvements on Routes F, J, O, and Z in Pemiscot County.

Additional information, including timelines and impacts to traffic, will be released prior to the start of construction.
