NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CONFIRMS TWO TORNADOS HIT SOUTHEAST MISSOURI ON TUESDAY
Officials with the National Weather Service have confirmed that two tornados occurred in Southeast Missouri during Tuesday’s storms.
According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, an EF 1 tornado with estimated peak winds of 110 miles per hour touched down three miles northwest of Matthews at 6:14 pm Tuesday and lifted three minutes later one mile northwest of Matthews.
Damage included a large farm implement building being completely destroyed along with four other barns or garages sustaining damage.
The National Weather Service in Memphis has also confirmed that an EF 1 tornado with estimated peak winds of 90 miles per hour began near Arbyrd in Dunklin County at 6:06 pm and continued for around nine minutes before ending in the Hornersville Swamp Conservation Area.
The tornado damaged storage buildings, trees, power poles, and irrigation systems.
WOMAN FLOWN TO CAPE GIRARDEAU HOSPITAL FOLLOWING WRECK NEAR QULIN
A Northeast Arkansas woman has been flown to an area hospital after being involved in a single vehicle wreck in Butler County.
Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tell KWOC News that 28 year old Samantha Pearson, of Corning, was driving on Missouri Highway 51, near Qulin, Thursday morning when her vehicle ran off the side of the road and overturned.
Pearson, who was reportedly not wearing a safety device, was ejected during the wreck.
She suffered moderate injuries and was flown to a Cape Girardeau hospital.
SOUTHEAST MISSOURI COULD GET APRIL SNOW SHOWERS TONIGHT

Weather officials say that snowfall amounts should generally be one inch or less, however minor travel impacts cannot be ruled out.

MAN IN CUSTODY IN STODDARD COUNTY ON ASSAULT WARRANT
A Dexter man has been taken into custody in Stoddard County on an assault warrant.
Few details about the incident have been released; however the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department says that 35 year old Jessie Burleson was arrested on a warrant for 2nd degree assault.
Burleson’s bond was set at $17,500 cash and officials say he remained in jail as of this morning.
MARBLE HILL POLICE FIND NARCOTICS HIDDEN IN FLASHLIGHT, TAKE WOMAN INTO CUSTODY
Authorities in Marble Hill say that a woman has been taken into custody after narcotics were found in a flashlight.
According to the Marble Hill Police Department, officers recently arrested a woman named Ashley Deitmeyer, of Festus, as part of a drug investigation.
During the arrest, officers located drug paraphernalia and narcotics wrapped in clear plastic hidden inside a flashlight.
Authorities say that Dietmeyer is currently being held on $10,000 cash only bonds for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
METHAMPHETAMINE SEIZED DURING TRAFFIC STOP IN CARTER COUNTY
Two arrests have been made after methamphetamine was found in Carter County.
Carter County Sheriff Richard Stephens tells KWOC News that over 1.6 grams of methamphetamine along with drug paraphernalia were recovered during a recent traffic stop.
Two arrests were made, however the names of the two arrested were not released.
