DEAD BODY DISCOVERED IN WAYNE COUNTY

A dead body was found Monday in Wayne County.

According to authorities, the body of a man was discovered Monday afternoon in the St. Francis River in the Patterson area.

An investigation is underway and an autopsy is set to be conducted today. The identity of the man was not released.

 

FISK MAN FACING FELONY DRUG TRAFFICKING CHARGE OUT OF BUTLER COUNTY

A Fisk man has been taken into custody in Butler County on a felony drug trafficking charge.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 33 year old Michael Ryan was arrested Monday evening on a charge of felony drug trafficking - methamphetamine.

Ryan was also arrested on misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana – under 10 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Following the arrest, Ryan was held at the Butler County Jail.

 

STODDARD AND DUNKLIN COUNTY ROAD TO BE CLOSED THIS WEEK

Route MM in Stoddard and Dunklin Counties will be closed for part of this week as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs.

According to officials the section of Route MM to be closed is located from Route U to Route J.

Weather permitting, work will take place from 6 am to 6 pm daily, through Thursday.

 

WINONA MAN KILLED IN SINGLE VEHICLE WRECK

Officials in Oregon County say that an area man was killed Sunday night in a single vehicle wreck.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 58 year old James Burmingham, of Winona, was driving on Missouri Highway 19 when his vehicle failed to negotiate a curve, ran off the side of the road, and overturned.

Burmingham was reportedly not wearing a safety device and was ejected during the wreck.

He was later pronounced dead by Oregon County Coroner Tom Clary.

 

MAN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN BUTLER COUNTY ON FELONY METH CHARGE

An area man is facing multiple felony charges following his arrest Monday night.

According to authorities, 54 year old Otto Starkey, of Silva, was taken into custody in Butler County on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine and driving while intoxicated.

Starkey was transported to the Butler County Jail following the arrest.

 

STODDARD COUNTY AUTHORITIES ARREST DEXTER MAN ON FELONY WARRANT

Officials in Stoddard County say that a local resident is in custody on a felony warrant.

According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 38 year old James Harris the third, of Dexter, was recently arrested on a Stoddard County felony warrant for delivery of 35 grams or less of marijuana.

Harris’s bond has been set at $25,000 cash only and he remained in jail as of this morning.

 

PEMISCOT COUNTY ROAD CLOSED FOR CROSSING REPLACEMENT

A part of Route J in Pemiscot County has been closed so contractor crews can replace the railroad crossing.

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, the railroad crossing is located between east Lincoln Street and south 4th Street in Hayti.

Weather permitting; the road is scheduled to re-open on Monday, July 9th.
