ONE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY DURING NORTHEAST ARKANSAS DOUBLE HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION
Authorities in Northeast Arkansas say a person has been taken into custody during an investigation into a double homicide.
Randolph County Sheriff Gary Tribble tells KWOC News that on Friday, the Sheriff’s Department took a report from a woman who said her parents had been missing since that morning.
On Saturday, authorities made entry into the residence of the parents and discovered the deceased bodies of 66 year old Ricky and Rita Bozwell.
Tribble says that during the investigation, a subject was taken into custody by the Arkansas State Police at the scene and held at the Randolph County Jail pending formal charges. The subject’s name was not released.
MAN DROWNS AT OFFSET QUARRY IN MADISON COUNTY
A St. Louis man drowned Friday in Madison County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 21 year old Safion Livingston was in the water at Offset Quarry near Fredericktown, when he began struggling, submerged, and did not resurface.
Livingston was later pronounced dead by Madison County Coroner Collin Follis.
Officials say the incident occurred at around 4 pm Friday afternoon.
SUBJECT FACING MULTIPLE CHARGES FOLLOWING INCIDENT IN KENNETT
A Kennett resident is facing multiple charges in connection to an incident last Friday.
Officials with the Kennett Police Department tell KWOC News that officers responded to an area business Friday morning in reference to a subject who had been caught shoplifting and was fighting with store employees.
Upon arrival, officers were able to subdue and arrest 29 year old Aireka Austin, of Kennett. Officers also located an undisclosed amount of methamphetamine and narcotic related paraphernalia in Austin’s purse.
Austin was arrested for robbery 2nd degree, burglary 1st degree, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, assault on a law enforcement officer, and resisting arrest.
ONE ARRESTED ON COCAINE CHARGE FOLLOWING WRECK
A wreck last week in Kennett led to a cocaine arrest.
According to the Kennett Police Department, Thursday evening, officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Main and Fifth Streets. At the scene, officers located one of the vehicles involved and were advised that the second vehicle had left the scene.
Following an investigation, officers arrested the second driver, 37 year old Cedric Rogers, of Kennett. During the arrest, officers located an undisclosed amount of cocaine and narcotic related paraphernalia.
Rogers was arrested for driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident, possession of a controlled substance, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia and was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center.
FISK MAN ARRESTED ON METHAMPHETAMINE CHARGE
Authorities in Butler County have arrested a Fisk man on a meth charge.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 57 year old David Bolen was taken into custody Friday evening on charges of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Following the arrest, Bolen was held at the Butler County Jail.
MONTH LONG REPAIR PROJECT SCHEDULED TO BEGIN TODAY IN STODDARD COUNTY
Route J in Stoddard County will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction over the next month as contractor crews perform pavement repairs.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, the section of roadway to be reduced is located from Route 25 to Route T.
Weather permitting, work will take place from 6 am to 5 pm daily, through Thursday, August 16th.
CREWS TO BE IN WAYNE COUNTY THROUGH NOVEMBER FOR BRIDGE DECK REPLACEMENT
Route Z in Wayne County will be reduced to one lane starting today so contractor crews can perform a bridge deck replacement.
Officials say the work zone is located in the area of County Road 519B.
Weather permitting, work is scheduled to be performed today through Saturday, November 3rd from 6 am to 6 pm. Temporary signals will be in place for one lane traffic.
