SOUTHEAST MISSOURI SCHOOL OFFICIAL FACING CHARGES OF SEXUAL CONTACT WITH A STUDENT
A staff member at New Madrid County Central High School is facing multiple charges of sexual contact with a student.
34 year old Ryan Blocker, of Lilbourn, was taken into custody on Tuesday.
According to Missouri Case Net, Blocker has been charged with five counts of sexual contact with a student and a single count of sexual contact with a student by a teacher.
His bond has been set at $50,000.
MARBLE HILL WOMAN SERIOUSLY INJURED IN SINGLE VEHICLE WRECK
A Marble Hill woman suffered serious injuries Tuesday morning in a single vehicle wreck.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 55 year old Alanna Skaggs was driving on Highway 34 when her vehicle ran off the side of the road, struck a tree, and overturned.
Skaggs was seriously injured in the wreck and transported to a Cape Girardeau hospital.
WEDNESDAY AT THE BUTLER COUNTY FAIR
The Butler County Fair is set to get started today at Ray Clinton Park in Poplar Bluff.
Multiple events are scheduled for tonight at the fair, including the opening of the carnival at 5 pm and gospel entertainment from Star Church beginning at 6 pm.
Tonight is also Public Safety Night at the Fair and attendees will get to view fire trucks, police cars, and ambulances thanks to the Butler County EMS, Fire Department, Sheriff’s Department, and the Poplar Bluff Police Department.

AUTHORITIES INVESTIGATING POSSIBLE MURDER/SUICIDE IN NORTHEAST ARKANSAS
Two people are dead in what authorities in Northeast Arkansas are investigating as a murder/suicide.
Officials with the Paragould Police Department tell KWOC News that shortly after 6 pm on Tuesday, officers responded to a report of a deceased male in an area near Darling Street in Paragould.
At the scene officers found information that led them to an area near US Highways 49 and 49 B where a female was also found deceased.
The identities of the two deceased have not been revealed and officials say that the incident is being investigated as a murder/suicide.
DEXTER MAN IN CUSTODY ON CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE WARRANT
A Dexter man was in custody this morning on a controlled substance warrant.
According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 25 year old Jonathan Horton was recently arrested on a warrant for possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Horton’s bond was set at $12,500 and officials say he remained in jail as of this morning.
ROAD CLOSURE TO BEGIN TODAY IN STODDARD AND DUNKLIN COUNTIES
Route MM in Dunklin and Stoddard Counties will be closed today and tomorrow so Missouri Department of Transportation crews can perform pavement repairs.
Officials say that the work zone will be located from Route J to Route U.
Route MM will be closed from 8 am to 4 pm both days for the repairs.
