MAN ARRESTED IN STODDARD COUNTY ON MULTIPLE FELONY DRUG CHARGES
Authorities in Stoddard County have arrested a Sikeston man on multiple felony drug charges.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 23 year old Robert-Dylan Mason was taken into custody Friday afternoon on felony charges of 1st degree trafficking drugs, receiving stolen property, unlawful use of a weapon, and careless and imprudent driving involving an accident.
Officials say that Mason is also facing felony charges of possession of a controlled substance for methamphetamine and marijuana.
TEENAGER SERIOUSLY INJURED IN SINGLE VEHICLE WRECK
A Southeast Missouri teenager was flown to an area hospital over the weekend following a single vehicle wreck.
Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tell KWOC News that a 17 year old girl from Sedgewickville was driving on Route M in Bollinger County, when her vehicle traveled off the side of the road and overturned. The wreck occurred at around 3 pm Saturday afternoon.
Officials say the teen suffered serious injuries and was flown to a St. Louis hospital.
OFFICERS TO DO RANDOM FOOT PATROLS IN MARBLE HILL
Police in a Southeast Missouri city will be increasing foot patrols beginning this month.
According to the Marble Hill Police Department, officers will now be doing random foot patrols in many areas of the community.
Residents are being asked to not be alarmed if they see an officer walking in the neighborhood and feel free to greet them.
BUTLER COUNTY CORONER’S OFFICE INVESTIGATED 162 DEATHS IN 2018
Officials say that over 150 deaths were investigated by the Butler County Coroner’s Office last year.
Butler County Coroner Andy Moore tells KWOC News that in 2018, his office was dispatched to investigate 162 deaths in Butler County.
Moore says that 121 of the deaths were for natural causes. There were also 19 overdose deaths, eight homicides, seven accidents, six suicides, and one of the deaths is still pending autopsy results.
REPORT OF POSSIBLE DRUG ACTIVITY RESULTS IN MULTIPLE ARRESTS
Three people have been arrested in connection to a reported possible drug activity in Sikeston.
According to authorities, early Saturday morning officers responded to an area location where they conducted a search and found methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and other items associated with illegal drug use.
49 year old Matthew McWhiter, 45 year old Cynthia Renfro, and 36 year old Curtis Winchester, all of Sikeston, were each taken into custody on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. Renfro and Winchester are also each facing a drug paraphernalia charge.
EAGLE DAYS PROGRAM SET FOR EARLY NEXT MONTH AT MINGO NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE
A day for honoring eagles has been scheduled for next month at Mingo National Wildlife Refuge near Puxico.
According to officials, the Wildlife Refuge, the Missouri Department of Conservation, and the Wappapello Lake Army Corps of Engineers will be hosting Eagle Days 2019 on Saturday, February 2nd.
There will be live eagle programs in the Mingo maintenance shop presented by the Dickerson Park Zoo starting at the beginning of every hour from 9 am to 3 pm.
In addition, there will be exhibits and other activities in the Visitor Center and spotting scopes will be set up on several active eagle nests around Mingo, the Duck Creek Conservation Area, and Wappapello Lake.
