POPLAR BLUFF MAN KILLED IN SINGLE VEHICLE CRASH 

A Poplar Bluff man was killed Thursday evening in a single vehicle crash in Dunklin County. 

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 9 pm on Route J, 2 miles east of Glennonville.  

31 year old Rodney Labryer was driving when his vehicle travelled off the roadway, struck a ditch, and overturned.  

Labryer was reportedly not wearing a safety device, and was ejected during the wreck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.  

A 32 year old passenger received serious injuries, and was taken by ambulance to the Poplar Bluff hospital.

MAN ARRESTED IN NEW MADRID FOR DELIVERY OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 

A man has been taken into custody in New Madrid County on a drug delivery charge. 

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 41 year old Jonnie Hayes, of Caruthersville, has been arrested for felony delivery of a controlled substance – marijuana.  

He was transported to the New Madrid County Jail following his arrest.

ROAD WORK SCHEDULED IN POPLAR BLUFF NEXT WEEK 

There will be road work in Poplar Bluff next week. 

According to the Poplar Bluff Street Department, Oak Grove road will be reduced to one lane, beginning next week, to replace concrete in both lanes. 

The work is scheduled to be finished next month.

DONIPHAN MAN ARRESTED ON DRUG RELATED CHARGES 

A man has been taken into custody in Butler County on drug related charges. 

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 35 year old Gregory Byes, of Doniphan, was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance – Methamphetamine. 

He also faces a charge of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. 

He was transported to the Butler County Jail following his arrest.

U.S FOREST SERVICE HOSTS TRAIL BUILDING DAY 

The U.S. Forest Service will be hosting an event this weekend. 

The Forest Service will host a Trail Building day at Midco Hollow in Carter County, where participants will aid the tread construction for the Ozark Trail. 

The event will be held on Saturday, from 10 am to 4:30 pm.

PUXICO FALL FESTIVAL SCHEDULED FOR THIS WEEKEND 

There is a fall festival coming up this weekend. 

The Puxico Fall Festival is scheduled for Saturday and will feature food vendors, crafts, games, and more. 

The festival will be held from 9 am to 5 pm, and will be located at Puxico South Park.
