MULTIPLE FATALITIES REPORTED AFTER WRECK IN STODDARD COUNTY
Multiple deaths have been reported following a single vehicle wreck last night in Stoddard County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 55 year old Jeffrey Stultz, of Pocahontas AR, ran off Missouri Highway 25 and struck a utility pole, ejecting him from the vehicle.
Both Stultz and a passenger, 41 year old Renee Karpinski, of Holcomb, were pronounced dead at the scene by Stoddard County Coroner Kenny Pope.
Two other people were injured, and both were transported to a hospital in Cape Giradeau.
PUXICO MAN BOOKED ON SEXUAL ABUSE CHARGE
Stoddard County authorities say that a Puxico man was in custody over the weekend on a sexual abuse charge.
Officials with the Stoddard County Sherriff’s Department tell KWOC News that 36 year old Cody Grubbs, of Puxico, was recently booked on a charge of sexual abuse – 2nd degree.
His bond has been set at $7,500 cash only.
MCALISTER’S DELI OPENING TODAY IN POPLAR BLUFF
A new Poplar Bluff restaurant will be opening its doors this morning.
The grand opening of McAlister’s Deli will be held at 10:30 am.
According to their website, McAlister’s Deli is a fast casual restaurant chain known for its sandwiches, soups, salads, desserts, and sweet tea.
McAlister’s Deli is located at 2865 Tucker Road, in Poplar Bluff.
POLICE OFFICER ARRESTED FOR 10 FELONY CHARGES IN CONNECTION WITH DRUG AND WEAPONS CASE
A Dunklin County police officer was arrested on multiple felony charges Friday evening.
According to authorities, 38 year old Freddie Williams, of Senath, was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, and nine counts of felony unlawful use of a weapon.
Drug paraphernalia used for methamphetamine, three handguns, two shotguns, and four rifles were allegedly found in his vehicle following a traffic stop, and methamphetamine was found on his person.
DEXTER MAN FACES CHARGE ON POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
A local man is facing a drug possession charge out of Stoddard County.
According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 45 year old Jackie Mally, of Dexter, was recently booked on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, except 35 grams or less of marijuana – synthetic cannabinoid.
His bond was set at $12,500 cash only.
BRIDGE WORK IN CARTER COUNTY WILL BE BLOCKING ROADWAY
Bridge work is scheduled to start today in Carter County.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, Eastbound US 60 will be reduced to one lane one mile east of the Route V intersection during the construction.
The work zone will be in place from 8 am to 4:30 pm.
