CHAFFEE WOMAN FACES POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE CHARGE – HEROIN
A woman has been arrested in New Madrid County for several felony charges, including possession of heroin.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol states that 24 year old Kendra Kennedy, of Chaffee, has been taken into custody for felony possession of a controlled substance – Heroin, and driving while suspended.
She also faces a charge for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
POPLAR BLUFF GRANT HEARING WILL BE HELD TODAY
Poplar Bluff will be hosting a public hearing today.
The Ozark Foothills Regional Planning Commission is hosting the hearing today from 1 to 2 pm, and will discuss an application for a Community Development Block Grant.
The Commission will be the applicant in a project that will contract with a firm to collect aerial imagery of Carter, Reynolds, Ripley, and Wayne Counties.
This imagery will be used for regional planning projects such as GIS mapping, land Parcel identification, and disaster mitigation planning.

LOCAL COMMUNITY GROUP DONATES TO VA MEDICAL CENTER
A local community organization has donated to the Poplar Bluff John J. Pershing VA Medical Center.
The Sons of the American Legion Brown Mabry Post 153 in Poplar Bluff donated winter clothing to the Center’s veteran care programs.
The Sons is an organization of veterans, or family of veterans, that help lobby and give benefits to struggling veterans.
DEXTER MAN BOOKED ON STATUTORY RAPE CHARGE ON TUESDAY
A man has been taken into custody in Stoddard County following a rape charge.
According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 28 year old Jacob Ross, of Dexter, was booked on statutory rape – 2nd degree, and possession of child pornography – 1st offense.
He has no bond, and remained in custody as of Tuesday.
LOCAL MAN ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE
A local man was taken into custody Tuesday in Butler County on drug related charges.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Larry Rudd, of Poplar Bluff, has been arrested for felony possession of methamphetamine.
He also faces a charge on possession of drug paraphernalia.
Rudd was transported to the Butler County Jail following his arrest.
11th ANNUAL HOWLING AT THE MOON FUNDRAISER SCHEDULED FOR OCTOEBR 25th
The Animal Welfare Alliance will be hosting a fund raising event later this month.
The 11th Annual Howling at the Moon will be held from 6 to 10 pm on Friday, October 25th, at the Westwood Center in Poplar Bluff.
