TWO ARRESTED IN BUTLER COUNTY FOLLOWING HIGH SPEED CHASES
Two were taken into custody in Butler County on Wednesday after a vehicle crash from a high speed chase.
According to the Butler County Sheriff’s Department, 30 year old Melissa Burns, of Poplar Bluff, and 34 year old Gary Goodwin, of Wappapello, were arrested following a short foot pursuit after their vehicle had crashed while attempting to evade authorities.
They were both charged on several crimes including vehicle break-ins and a home invasion, and were transported to the Butler County Jail following their arrests.
TWO DEXTER RESIDENTS ARRESTED ON ASSAULT AND DRUG CHARGES
Two Dexter residents were taken into custody in Stoddard County on Wednesday on assault and drug charges.
According to the Stoddard County Police Department, 30 year old Jacob Mikels, and 37 year old Kara Mikels, of Dexter, were booked on a 4th degree domestic assault charge – 1st or 2nd offense, possession of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana/synthetic cannabinoid, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
They both have bonds set at $12,500 cash only, and remained in custody following their arrests.
LOCAL CHURCH HOSTING CHRISTMAS EVENT NEXT MONTH
A Poplar Bluff church will be hosting a Christmas play next month.
The Palace of Praise Church will be holding their Sounds Of Christmas play from December 15th to the 18th, and gifts will also be given away on the 15th.

PEMISCOT MAN SENTENCED ON 2015 MURDER CHARGE OF KENNETT WOMAN
A Pemiscot County man was sentenced on a 2015 murder charge of a Kennett woman.
According to Officials with the Dunklin County Police, 40 year old Crowin King, of Homestown, was charged for the killing of 24 year old Carolletta Hamilton in her apartment in Kennett in 2015 with a firearm.
King was sentenced to a total of 50 years in prison; 30 on a second degree murder charge, and 20 for an armed criminal action charge.
MODERATE INJURIES REPORTED IN STODDARD COUNTY FOLLOWING VEHICLE CRASH
Injuries have been reported on Wednesday following a vehicle crash in Stoddard County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on Route P, 6 miles south of Bell City, where a vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a ditch.
The driver of the vehicle received moderate injuries, and was transported by ambulance to a Cape Girardeau hospital.
ANNUAL AMBULANCE HOLIDAY PROGRAM STARTS THIS MONTH IN STODDARD COUNTY
The Stoddard County annual ambulance holiday program will begin this month.
The event is held for patients who cannot walk and wants to go home to their families for the holiday season, where ambulances will drive them to their family’s homes.
This service is free for anyone who wishes to use it, and will begin on November 28th. Anyone interested is asked to contact the activity director of your family member’s nursing home.
