SEVERE WEATHER POSSIBLE TONIGHT IN SOUTHEAST MISSOURI AND NORTHEAST ARKANSAS 

Southeast Missouri and Northeast Arkansas could see some possible severe weather tonight.  

According to officials with the National Weather Service in Paducah, a chance of thunderstorms will spread north and east across our region later this afternoon and evening.  

Severe weather is possible with this system, especially across Southeast Missouri this evening. 

The main hazard will be damaging winds, but a few spin up tornadoes may be a concern too. Locally heavy rainfall could also lead to some isolated minor flooding issues.

SIKESTON MAN SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS IN PRISON FOLLOWING CRASH IN STODDRAD COUNTY 

A Sikeston man was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison following a vehicle crash in Stoddard County. 

According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 24 year old Robert Sitzes-Mason, of Sikeston, was sentenced for possession of 50 grams or more of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, and possession of a firearm in relation to a drug trafficking charge. 

He had also pleaded guilty to a previous incident when he crashed his vehicle in Stoddard County, where officials found just over four ounces of methamphetamine, as well as a loaded, stolen firearm. 

Mason’s record also includes a charge in 2014 for distributing a controlled substance, and a charge in 2015 for assault on an officer.

WAPPAPELLO LAKE ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS HOSTING FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS EVENT  

The Army Corps of Engineers at Lake Wappapello will be hosting their Festival of Lights event this week. 

The event will allow local businesses access to free advertising for the duration of the event by decorating a campsite. To register and participate, call the Corps management office at 573-222-8562. 

The event will be held from November 29th through December 29th.

WOMAN ARRESTED IN DUNKLIN COUNTY ON POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE 

A woman was taken into custody in Dunklin County on Monday on possession of methamphetamine. 

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 40 year old Jamie Holliman, of Kennett, was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, as well a felony probation and parole warrant, and parole violation on dangerous drugs. 

She was transported to the Dunklin County Jail following her arrest, with no bond.

INJURIES REPORTED FOLLOWING VEHICLE CRASH IN RIPLEY COUNTY 

Injuries were reported following a vehicle collision in Ripley County on Monday. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol tells (Station name) News that the crash occurred on Missouri 142 at Highway Street, Doniphan, where a vehicle pulled into the path of another moving vehicle. 

The driver of one of the vehicles, who was not wearing a safety device, received minor injuries following the crash, and was transported by ambulance to a Poplar Bluff hospital.

PARAGOULD POLICE INVESTIGATING REPORT OF MUTILATED DOG 

The Paragould Police Department is currently investigating the case of a mutilated dog. 

According to officials with the department, the dog’s owner showed an officer pictures of the dog, which was found dead with multiple injuries inflicted to it.
