 TWO AREA RESIDENTS ARRESTED IN BUTLER COUNTY ON MULTIPLE CHARGES 

Two Poplar Bluff residents were taken into custody in Butler County on Saturday on multiple charges. 

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 33 year old Stephanie Welsh was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance – hydrocodone, and 19 year old Shannon Hatcher was arrested on a Butler County felony warrant on damaged property, tampering with a motor vehicle. 

They were both transported to the Butler County Jail following their arrests.

LOCAL RESIDENT ARRESTED IN WAYNE COUNTY ON POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE 

An area resident was taken into custody in Wayne County on Sunday for possession of methamphetamine. 

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 58 year old Gregory Brunelle, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested on felony possession of methamphetamine, as well as felony assault – 2nd degree, a wayne county warrant, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. 

He was transported to the Wayne County Jail following his arrest.

LOCAL ORGANIZATION SEEKING ASSISTANCE IN MEAL PREPARATION 

A Poplar Bluff organization is seeking assistance in preparing meals and desserts for area residents. 

The United Gospel Rescue Mission’s Executive Director Greg Kirk reports that the Mission is looking for volunteers to help with cooking, preparing meals, and dessert donation such as pies and cakes.

MISSOURI STATE HIGHWAY PATROL ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY FOR THANKSGIVING 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol warns residents of expected traffic increases for the holiday.

The Patrol warns drivers that traffic is expected to increase due to Thanksgiving, and that crashes become much more likely as the lanes fill in, with several deaths and hundreds of injuries from crashes during last year’s Thanksgiving.

MODERATE INJURIES REPORTED AFTER VEHICLE ACCIDENT IN BUTLER COUNTY 

Moderate injuries were reported following a vehicle accident in Butler County on Friday. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol tells KWOC News that the crash occurred on Highway 158, west of highway 142, where a vehicle hydroplaned and ran off the right side of the roadway, striking a utility pole. 

The driver of the vehicle received moderate injuries, and was transported to a Poplar Bluff hospital following the crash.

WOMAN ARRESTED IN STODDARD COUNTY ON DRUG RELATED CHARGES 

A Dexter woman was taken into custody in Stoddard County on Saturday on drug related charges. 

According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 35 year old Amanda Cochran, of Dexter, was booked on possession of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana/synthetic cannabinoid. 

She was transported to the Stoddard County Jail following her arrest, on a $12,500 bond cash only.
