CARUTHERSVILLE POLICE SEARCHING FOR MISSING WOMAN BELIEVED TO BE IN DANGER 

Police in Caruthersville are searching for a missing woman believed to be in danger.  

Tony Jones, Chief of the Caruthersville Police Department, tells KWOC News that they were contacted Monday evening in reference to a missing person.  

At around 5 pm Monday, 30-year-old Michele Bell, of Caruthersville, was leaving Caruthersville and headed south on Interstate 55. 

Jones says that Bell may have had a mental break down and there is a concern for her safety. Her vehicle is described as a maroon colored Chevrolet HHR.

Anyone with information on Bell’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Pemiscot County Sheriff’s Department or dial 911.

TRIAL SET FOR VAN BUREN MAN ON SEVERAL ARMED CRIMINAL ACTION CHARGES 

A date has been set for the trial of a Van Buren man who opened fire on several law enforcement officers. 

According to officials with the Carter County Police Department, 31 year old James Cummings, of Van Buren, shot at four officers after they attempted to act on James’ eviction notice. 

He is set to appear at court on December 18th on four counts of first-degree assault and armed criminal action against the four officers he shot at, with one of the officers being seriously injured by Cumming’s gunfire.

POLICE INVESTIGATING POTENTIAL BANK ROBBERY IN PARAGOULD 

Police are investigating a potential bank robbery that occurred on Monday in Greene County, Arkansas. 

According to the Paragould Police Department, officials with the department responded to a call in on a suspicious individual, who was said to be armed, leaving a bank with an unknown amount of money. 

Witness reports claim the man had a weapon, and demanded the teller for money after entering the bank. 

More information will be available as the investigation proceeds.

CARTER COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE MOVES LOCATION 

The Carter County Sheriff’s Office has recently moved location. 

Officials with the Department tell KWOC News that the department has moved into a building complex on Cabin Drive, where it plans to permanently relocate to.

WOMAN ARRESTED IN STODDARD COUNTY ON DRUG RELATED CHARGES 

A woman was taken into custody in Stoddard County on Monday on drug related charges. 

According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Office, 41 year old Theresa Miller, of Sikeston, was booked on possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. 

She was also charged with driving while suspended on a DWI, and was transported to the Stoddard County Jail following her arrest, on a $7,500 cash only bond.

INJURIES REPORTED FOLLOWING VEHICLE CRASH IN NEW MADRID COUNTY 

Injuries were reported on Monday after a vehicle crash in New Madrid. 

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on I-55 Southbound, near Matthews, where a vehicle ran off the roadway and struck a median cable barrier, overturning. About 140’ of cable barrier was damaged in the crash. 

The driver of the vehicle received minor injuries in the collision, and was transported to a hospital in Sikeston.

PARAGOULD POLICE INVESTIGATING VEHICLE BREAK-INS 

The Paragould Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division is investigating a string of vehicle break-ins. 

According to the Paragould Police Department, the suspect was caught on surveillance camera breaking into multiple vehicles, as well as a utility trailer, on US 49 North. He is reported to have broken into the vehicle, stealing it as well as a firearm and hunting supplies.
