WOMAN ARRESTED IN STODDARD COUNTY ON POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE 

A woman was taken into custody in Stoddard County on Saturday on methamphetamine possession. 

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 32 year old Jennifer Trull, of Dexter, was arrested on felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, as well as a misdemeanor charge on marijuana possession, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. 

She was transported to the Stoddard County Jail following her arrest.

FERAL SWINE HUNTING RESTRICTIONS SET IN MARK TWAIN NATIONAL FOREST 

There have been restrictions set on the hunting of feral swine in the Mark Twain National Forest. 

According to the US Department of Agriculture’s Forest Service, the only way for a hunter to kill a hog is during a hunting season such as deer season, where a hunter with a valid hunting permit may kill a hog if one is seen. 

The decision of restricting the hog hunting was made as a result of a 60-day public commenting period, and more information is available at the Forest Service’s website at www.FS.Usda.Gov.

LOCAL CHURCH HOSTING CHRISTMAS DINNER THIS WEEK 

A local church will be hosting a Christmas dinner for the community on Wednesday. 

The First United Methodist Church will be hosting the dinner, and it will consist of over 30 turkeys, hundreds of pounds of potatoes, several pans of stuffing, and a kettle of green beans. 

The church is located at the corner of Fifth and Main in Poplar Bluff, and the dinner will begin at 5:30 pm.

LOCAL RESIDENT ARRESTED IN BUTLER COUNTY ON DRUG CHARGES 

A Poplar Bluff citizen was taken into custody in Butler County on drug related charges. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol tells KWOC News that 48 year old Julie Mccranie, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested on felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. 

She was transported to the Butler County Jail following her arrest.

MODERATE INJURIES REPORTED FOLLOWING VEHICLE COLLISION IN NEW MADRID 

Moderate injuries were reported on Friday following a vehicle crash in New Madrid. 

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision occurred on US 60, near Morehouse, where a vehicle was stopped in the right lane, attempting to make a left turn, before colliding into another vehicle. 

The driver of the vehicle received moderate injuries, and was transported to a hospital in Sikeston following the crash.

ROADWORK SCHEDULED IN DUNKLIN COUNTY FOR REPAIRS 

A road is scheduled to close in Dunklin County on Wednesday. 

The Missouri Department of Transportation states that the roadwork is scheduled for the stretch of roadway from County Road 103, to County Road 128, on Wednesday from 8 am to 3 pm for the repairs.
