BODY FOUND IN BUTLER COUNTY POTENTIALLY IDENTIFIED
Updating a story we brought to you yesterday, the body of a woman that was found in Butler County on Thursday has potentially been identified. According to Butler County Corner Andy Moore, the body has potentially been identified as 33 year old Brittney Grammer, of Poplar Bluff, who allegedly died by homicide.
An autopsy was performed on the body from Dr. Russell Deidiker, and by looking over several medical records as well as information taken from calls and messages from the public, officials are confident in the identification.
Authorities are continuing to investigate how the remains got to a rural area of the Eastern part of Butler County and who is responsible.
Authorities say the victim had been missing for approximately one week.
INVESTIGATION CONTINUES ON NEW MADRID ROBBERY
The investigation continues on a pair of robbers that broke into several vehicles in New Madrid.
According to the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Department, two suspects damaged and entered several vehicles at a vehicle shop in New Madrid, stealing several items from the business, and breaking into multiple vehicles in the lot.
The suspect’s vehicle was caught on a surveillance camera, and the video and image is available on the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Department’s Facebook page.

PUBLIC HEARING SCHEDULED FOR THE CITY OF POPLAR BLUFF NEXT WEEK
The city of Poplar Bluff will be holding a public hearing next week.
The hearing is scheduled to be hosted on January 6th, at the Black River Coliseum at 6:30 pm, and is set to discuss the city’s submission of an application for the 2020 MDNR Land and Water Conservation Fund grant cycle.

ROAD IN PEMISCOT COUNTY SCHEDULED TO CLOSE FOR BRIDGE REPAIRS
A road in Pemiscot County is scheduled to close in the next few weeks.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, Intersection-55 is being reduced with a 12-foot width restriction so that MODOT crews can perform bridge maintenance. The work is scheduled to take place on January 13th through 14th, from 7 am to 5 pm each day.

INJURIES REPORTED FOLLOWING VEHICLE COLLISION IN BUTLER COUNTY
Injuries and state property damage were reported following a vehicle crash in Butler County on Monday.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol tells (Station Name) News that the crash occurred on Route W, near Poplar Bluff, where a vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway, striking a MODOT sign, utility pole, and tree.
An occupant of the vehicle received minor injuries from the crash, and was transported to a hospital in Poplar Bluff.
VEHICLE CRASH REPORTED IN RIPLEY COUNTY
A vehicle crash was reported on Monday in Ripley County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on Missouri 142, near Oxly, where a vehicle ran off the roadway, striking a ditch before overturning.
An occupant in the vehicle received minor injuries as a result of the crash, and was transported to a hospital in Poplar Bluff.
