BERNIE MAN ARRESTED ON SODOMY WARRANT
An area man has been taken into custody on a sodomy warrant.
Officials with the Malden Police Department tell KWOC News that on Saturday, officers arrested Bobby Joe Riddell, of Bernie, on a Dunklin County warrant for Statutory Sodomy 2nd.
Riddell’s bond has been set at $150,000, cash only, and he was transferred to the Dunklin County Justice Center.
AREA POLICE ASK PUBLIC’S HELP IN IDENTIFYING SUBJECTS IN CONNECTION TO A BREAK-IN
Authorities in Poplar Bluff are trying to identify multiple subjects in connection to a recent break in.
According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, during the early morning hours of August 23rd, multiple subjects broke into a residence in the 1700 block of Thomas Street.
The subjects were recorded on a surveillance camera and we have the footage available on the KWOC Facebook page.
Anyone who has information on the identity of the subjects in the footage is asked to contact Detective Dan Mustain at 573-686-8632.
MODOT GIVING AWAY TWO BRIDGES IN SOUTHEAST MISSOURI
The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced that two area historic bridges are available for relocation and reuse.
According to MoDOT, the Route 34 Leeper bridge over Black River in Wayne County as well as the Business 60 Poplar Bluff Viaduct bridge over Black River and the Union Pacific railroad can be obtained by government entities, historical or civic groups, or private citizens, free of charge.
Anyone interested in obtaining a historic bridge must submit a detailed proposal describing the dismantling and relocation plan, cost and future use.

TWO ARRESTED ON METH CHARGES IN BUTLER COUNTY
Two people were taken into custody Saturday night in Butler County on felony meth charges.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 38 year old Tiffany Brown, of Fisk, and 37 year old Colt Losh, of Poplar Bluff, were each arrested at around 8:30 pm Saturday on charges of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Following their arrest, both were held at the Butler County Jail.
KENNETT FIRE OFFICIALS WARN AREA RESIDENTS TO REMEMBER TO CLEAN THEIR CLOTHES DRYER
With fall coming up soon, fire officials in Kennett want to remind area residents on how important it is to keep your clothes dryer clean.
According to the Kennett Fire Department, every year approximately 2,900 home clothes dryer fires are reported causing an estimated five deaths, 100 injuries, and $35 million in property loss.
The leading cause of the fires is a failure to properly clean the dryer and more home clothes dryer fires occur in the fall and winter months.
Officials say that it is recommended that the dryer vent is frequently cleaned along with getting a new vent hose once a year.
LADIES NIGHT OUT SCHEDULED FOR TODAY IN POPLAR BLUFF
The John J. Pershing VA Medical Center will be presenting the 6th Annual Ladies Night Out beginning this morning.
The event, for women that have served in the armed forces, is scheduled for 9 am to 4:15 pm at First Christian Church in Poplar Bluff.
