THREE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY ON FELONY WARRANTS IN BUTLER COUNTY
Authorities in Butler County arrested a Doniphan man over the weekend on a felony drug charge.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 35 year old Brandon Brown was taken into custody Saturday night on a felony charge of possession of methamphetamine as well as a felony warrant out of Clay County.
At around the same time, officers also arrested 45 year old Carl Capper and 36 year old Samatha Boyer, both of Poplar Bluff, on felony warrants out of Butler County.
Following their arrests, all three were transported to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.
MUNICIPAL UTILITIES IN POPLAR BLUFF TO MOVE TO NEW LOCATION TODAY
Poplar Bluff city officials say that Municipal Utilities has moved.
Municipal Utilities new location at 1902 Sunset Drive will be opening on today.
Municipal Utilities had previously been located on Barron Road.
OVERLAY PROJECTS TO BEGIN TODAY ON HIGHWAY 60 IN CARTER COUNTY
Multiple sections of Highway 60 in Carter County will be reduced beginning today for repair projects.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, eastbound US 60 will be reduced to one lane with a 12-foot width restriction from just east of County Road 125 to just west of Parson's Drive as well as from just east of County Road 163 to just west of Route J so crews can perform a pavement overlay.
Weather permitting, work is scheduled to take place from 7 am to 7 pm daily through Monday, October 7th, including weekends as necessary.
BERNIE MAN SERIOUSLY INJURED IN SINGLE VEHICLE WRECK
A Bernie man was taken to an area hospital following a wreck on Monday evening.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 37 year old Anthony Wamble was driving on Circle Drive, when he failed to negotiate a curve, ran off the left side of the roadway, and struck a cable box and a shed, and then overturned.
Wamble was seriously injured in the wreck and transported by ambulance to an area hospital.
AREA RESIDENTS AND BUSINESS ASKED TO BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR SCAMMERS
With Football season kicking off this Friday, Poplar Bluff Athletic Director Kent Keith is asking area residents and businesses to be on the lookout for scammers.
Keith says that the Poplar Bluff Athletic Department does not use outside companies to solicit donations on their behalf.

32ND ANNUAL WOMEN AWARE CONFERENCE TO BE HELD ON SEPTEMBER 19TH
The Keynote Speakers have been announced for the 32nd Annual Women Aware Conference in Poplar Bluff.
The speakers will be Poplar Bluff Native Jennifer Webb and America’s Got Talent contestant Kechi (Key-Chee) Okwuchi (Ock-Whoo-Chee).
The conference will also feature 16 breakout sessions covering family life, managing money, building your business, and more.
