MISSOURI STATE CONGRESSWOMAN ANNOUNCES CANDIDACY FOR STATE SENATE 

A State Congresswoman from Southeast Missouri has announced her candidacy for the Missouri State Senate.  

Earlier this week, Holly Rehder announced that she will be running for Missouri’s 27th Senate District, which is made up of six counties, including Wayne, Madison, and Bollinger.  

The seat is currently held by Wayne Wallingford who is facing the term limit.  

Rehder is coming up against a term limit herself, having served as the Representative for Missouri House District 148 since 2013.

AUTHORITIES IN BUTLER COUNTY ARREST ELLSINORE MAN ON FELONY METH CHARGE 

Authorities in Butler County have arrested an area man on a felony controlled substance charge.  

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 26 year old Adam Bishop, of Ellsinore, was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.  

He is also facing charges of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and driving while revoked.  

Following the arrest, Bishop was held at the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.

DATE SET FOR DONIPHAN CITY WIDE YARD SALE 

A date has been announced for the Doniphan City Wide Yard Sale.  

The event has been scheduled for 8 am to 4 pm on Saturday, October 5th.  

There will be yard sales across the city, as well as food trucks, live music, and more.

MISSING WOMAN SOUGHT OUT OF NORTHEAST ARKANSAS 

Officials in Northeast Arkansas are asking for the public’s help in finding a missing woman.  

According to the Arkansas State Police, the Independence County Sheriff's Department has requested activation of a Silver Alert for 55 year old Connie Jennings, of Southside.  

Jennings is described as a white female, five feet, three inches tall, weighing 118 pounds, with brown shoulder length hair, and brown eyes.  

Officials say she went missing on September 3rd and was last seen wearing a light colored blouse and dark colored capris. She may be travelling in a silver 2008 Chevrolet Aveo with a license plate of 044 YCP.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact the Independence County Sheriff’s Department at 870-793-8838.

FIRST RESPONDERS BALL TO BE HELD THIS FRIDAY 

The 2nd Annual First Responders Ball has been scheduled for this week.  

The event will be held on Friday at the Poplar Bluff Elks Lodge.  

The ball will begin at 6 pm, with a steak dinner following at 7 pm. Tickets are $25 and all proceeds will benefit supporting heroes.  

There will also be a silent auction and door prizes.

2019 STODDARD COUNTY FAIR TO BEGIN NEXT WEEK         

 

The 2019 Stoddard County Fair is scheduled to begin next week. 

The fair will kick-off with the parade in downtown Dexter on Tuesday, September 17th at 5:30 pm.  

There will be multiple nights of entertainment and events including performances by Rank Outsiders and the Justin Heskett Band.  

A few events will precede the official start of the fair this year, including the fair pageants on Sunday, September 15th.
