POPLAR BLUFF POLICE ANNOUNCE ALCOHOL SALE COMPLIANCE CHECKS 

Authorities in Poplar Bluff have announced they will be conducting checks at local businesses to make sure they are selling alcohol properly.  

According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, in the next few months young adults under the age of 21 will visit businesses which sell alcoholic beverages and try to purchase the drinks. 

Police Officers will be working with these minors, and will cite employees and businesses for violations.

BUTLER COUNTY ROAD TO BE CLOSED TODAY 

Route HH in Butler County will be closed today so crews can perform pavement repairs. 

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, the work zone will be located between Route 142 and Route 53. 

Work is scheduled to take place today from 8 am to 4:30 pm.

DATE SET FOR DONIPHAN CITY WIDE YARD SALE 

A date has been announced for the Doniphan City Wide Yard Sale.  

The event has been scheduled for 8 am to 4 pm on Saturday, October 5th.  

There will be yard sales across the city, as well as food trucks, live music, and more.

NORTHEAST ARKANSAS MAN FACING LIFE IN PRISON FOR RAPE CHARGE 

A Northeast Arkansas man is facing spending the rest of his life behind bars.  

According to Scott Ellington, Prosecuting Attorney for the 2nd Judicial District of Arkansas, 63 year old Jerry McKee, of Paragould, has been convicted on a felony rape charge.  

Ellington tells KWOC news that McKee was arrested in 2018 for the rape of a minor child.  

The jury recommended a life sentence in the Arkansas Department of Corrections. Ellington says that Judge Barbara Halsey followed their recommendation and imposed the full sentence.

PAVEMENT REPAIR PROJECT SET FOR TODAY IN STODDARD COUNTY 

Eastbound Route 60 in Stoddard County will be reduced to one lane today so Missouri Department of Transportation crews can mill the pavement.  

According to officials, the section of roadway to be reduced is located from Route 51 to Route TT. 

Work will take place today from 7 am to 4:30 pm.

POPLAR BLUFF TECHNICAL CAREER CENTER TO HOST CAR AND MOTOR SHOW 

A car show has been scheduled for later this month in Poplar Bluff.  

According to school officials, the Poplar Bluff Technical Career Center will host its first Car and Motor Show on Saturday, September 21st.  

The event will run from 9 am to 3 pm at the Poplar Bluff High School and will also feature food and games.
