POLICE IN POPLAR BLUFF SEARCHING FOR ARMED MAN

Police in Poplar Bluff are searching for a man who is known to be armed.

According to the department, police are currently searching for the whereabouts of Bernard Gales, who officials state is known to be armed.

TWO ARRESTED IN RIPLEY COUNTY ON DRUG AND FIREARM CHARGES 

Two men were taken into custody in Ripley County on Monday on drug and firearm charges.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol tells KWOC News that 51 year old Timothy Ossana, and 39 year old Jeremy Sisco, of Doniphan, was arrested on felony unlawful possession of a firearm, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Ossana was additionally charged with felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, and unlawful use of a weapon.

MAN ARRESTED IN BUTLER COUNTY ON METHAMPHETAMINE POSSESSION 

A man was taken into custody in Butler County on possession of methamphetamine on Monday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol tells KWOC News that 36 year old Christopher Reynolds, of Wappapello, was arrested on felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, as well as a Butler County failure to appear Warrant on child neglect.

He was transported to the Wayne County Jail following his arrest.

They were both transported to the Ripley County Jail following their arrests.


LOCAL LANDLORD FACING MISCONDUCT CHARGES AFTER ALLEGEDLY ASSAULTING WOMAN 

A Poplar Bluff landlord is potentially facing charges after allegedly sexually assaulting a woman.

According to officials with the Poplar Bluff Police Department, police received a call on Friday by a woman who stated that 84 year old landlord Ray Robertson had forced himself on her, groping her and touching her inappropriately.

Robertson was taken into custody on sexual assault – 2nd degree, and third degree kidnapping.

He has been charged several times in the past with sexual misconduct and abuse charges between 2004 and 2017, and pleaded guilty to an assault charge in 2005.

THREE INJURED FOLLOWING VEHICLE CRASH IN BUTLER COUNTY 

Three people were injured following a vehicle crash in Butler County on Monday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on Highway M, west of Poplar Bluff, where a vehicle ran off the right side of the road before striking a tree, ejecting all three occupants, and causing the vehicle to overturn.

The driver and an occupant of the vehicle received serious injuries, and another occupant received moderate injuries, as a result of the crash.

All three were taken to a Poplar Bluff hospital.

INJURIES REPORTED FOLLOWING VEHICLE COLLISION IN CARTER COUNTY 

Injuries have been reported following a vehicle collision in Carter County on Monday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on US 60, near Fremont, where a vehicle failed to yield at a crossover, entering the path of another vehicle, causing the oncoming vehicle to strike the first.

The driver of the crossing vehicle received serious injuries, and an occupant of the second vehicle received moderate injuries as a result of the crash, and were taken to a hospital in Poplar Bluff.

ROAD CLOSING IN CARTER COUNTY FOR REPAIRS 

A road is scheduled to close in Carter County next week for repairs.

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, a section of roadway between US 60 and Route 21 will be closed while crews replace a culvert pipe under the roadway. The work is scheduled to be done from January 21st through 24th, from 7:30 am to 3 pm each day.
