POPLAR BLUFF POLICE DEPARTMENT SEARCHING FOR MISSING MAN

A Poplar Bluff resident is currently missing, and authorities with the Poplar Bluff Police Department are asking for the public’s help.

According to the department, 83 year old Robert Coats has been reported missing. He is described as a 5’7, 160 lbs. white male with blue eyes, and was last seen wearing a blue/teal coat, button up shirt, blue jeans, and brown shoes. He was last seen walking in the area of Maud Street and Westwood Boulevard.

DEXTER MAN ARRESTED IN STODDARD COUNTY ON DRUG POSSESSION

A Dexter man was taken into custody in Stoddard County on Monday on drug possession.

According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 38 year old Jimmy Buck Jr. was booked on a Stoddard County warrant for possession of a controlled substance.

Following his arrest, he was transported to the Stoddard County Jail, with no bond.

ROADWAY IN STODDARD COUNTY SCHEDULED FOR REDUCTION DURING REPAIRS

A roadway in Stoddard County will be reduced while undergoing repairs.

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, a section of Route Z, from Route 25 to Route 153, will be reduced to one lane while MODOT crews perform pavement repairs on the roadway.

The work is set to take place today and Thursday, from 8 am to 4 pm both days.

FORMER POPLAR BLUFF OFFICER PLEADS GUILTY TO CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CHARGE

A former officer with the Poplar Bluff Police Department pleaded guilty to a child pornography charge on Tuesday.

According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, 40 year old Brandon Hopper pleaded guilty to a felony offense of sexual exploitation of a minor by production of child pornography during a federal court case.

The charge stems from a report that Hopper and Amber Longhibler exchanged sexually explicit material depicting a female minor by phone, and both admitted to taking and sharing multiple photographs through text messages.

Hopper faces a minimum of 15 years in federal prison on the charge, and has a sentencing set for January 20th. Longhibler has a sentencing scheduled for December 8th.

DRIVER INJURED FOLLOWING VEHICLE COLLISION IN PEMISCOT COUNTY

A driver was injured in a vehicle crash in Pemiscot County on Tuesday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision happened when a vehicle was traveling slowly, and was struck by another oncoming vehicle, causing both vehicles to run off the roadway, and the struck vehicle to catch fire.

The driver of the struck vehicle suffered moderate injuries from the incident, and was transported to a Hayti hospital for treatment.

MAN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN STODDARD COUNTY AFTER RESISTING ARREST

A man was arrested in Stoddard County on Tuesday after resisting arrest by authorities.

According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 36 year old Michael Blankenship, of Bloomfield, was booked on Resisting or Interfering with an arrest or detention stop.

He was transported to the Stoddard County Jail following his arrest, with no bond.
