MISSING POPLAR BLUFF RESIDENT FOUND SAFE

A Poplar Bluff resident who went missing last week has been found safe.

Officials with the Poplar Bluff Police Department tell KWOC News that 83 year old Robert Coats, who suffers from memory loss went missing near a local bank, was found safe and sound.

An Endangered Silver Advisory was issued for him on October 20th, and he was found on Monday.

VAN BUREN MAN CHARGED ON THEFT IN CARTER COUNTY

A Van Buren man was arrested on Friday in regards to a theft offense.

According to the Carter County Sheriff’s Department, 27 year old Heather Haley was charged on a felony warrant out of Butler County for theft.

Officials say that he was held at the Carter County Jail.

ROADWAY SCHEDULED TO CLOSE IN STODDARD COUNTY FOR REPAIRS

A roadway will close in Stoddard County today while undergoing repairs.

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, a section of Route T, between Missouri Route 51 and County Road 295, will close while MODOT crews replace a culvert under the roadway.

The work will start at 8 am, and is expected to be complete by 3 pm.

COVID-19 CASES ACROSS SOUTHEAST MISSOURI CONTINUE TO RISE

Additional cases of the coronavirus have been reported throughout Missouri.

According to the Butler County Health Department, 5 new cases were reported on Monday, bringing the County’s total to 1,450 cases. Stoddard County reported 20 new cases, and the County has reached 1,041 cases. Of them, 821 have recovered, while 200 are currently active.

Dunklin County now stands at 1,275 cases of the virus. Of these cases, 1,064 have recovered, while 200 are still active.

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reports that as of Monday, there are now 171,022 cases of the virus in the state, while 2,810 deaths have been directly linked to the disease.

DRIVER INJURED FOLLOWING PEMISCOT COUNTY WRECK

A driver was injured in a vehicle crash in Pemiscot County on Friday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a vehicle was traveling on Missouri Highway NN, at County Road 454, where it struck an animal that was crossing the roadway.

The driver suffered minor injuries from the crash, and was transported to a Hayti hospital.

ARREST MADE IN STODDARD COUNTY ON DRUG RELATED CHARGES

A man was taken into custody in Stoddard County on Monday for multiple drug related charges.

According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 33 year old Shane Shafer, of Dexter, was booked on a Stoddard County warrant for possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

He is currently being at the Stoddard County Jail on a $7,500 cash only bond.
