SHOTS FIRED REPORTED ON SANDERS STREET IN POPLAR BLUFF
Another shooting case has been reported in Poplar Bluff on Sanders Street.
According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, officials received a call on Tuesday about hearing gunfire on the 1900 block of Sanders Street.
The six shots fired didn’t seem to have a target in mind, and no injuries were reported. It is uncertain at this time if this case is related to the Foley Street, Bacon Park, or Wallace Street shootings.
SCAM CALLS REPORTED IN STODDARD COUNTY
There have been several reports of scam calls in Stoddard County.
According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, residents have been receiving calls from individuals who claim to be Stoddard County deputies, and that a warrant has been issued for the recipient’s arrest.
The department reminds residents that they will not call anyone to inform about arrest warrants, and that these calls should be immediately reported to the Sheriff’s Department by calling 573-568-4654.
SPRING FESTIVAL SCHEDULED FOR PUXICO IN APRIL
The Puxico Police Department will be hosting a spring festival in early April.
According to the department, the event will feature an Easter egg hunt for children, as well as BINGO activities for the adults. There will also be craft and food vendors, and more.
The festival will be held at Puxico South Park on April 4th, from 10 am to 4 pm.
DUNKLIN COUNTY MAN ARRESTED ON MULTIPLE SODOMY RELATED CHARGES
A Dunklin County man has been charged with multiple offenses.
According to the Dunklin County Sheriff’s Department, 27 year old Cesar Pedroza, of Senath, was taken into custody on Friday, and has been charged on suspicion of sexual exploitation of a minor, statutory sodomy – 2nd degree, and two charges on statutory rape – 2nd degree.
He was additionally charged on two charges of child molestation – 4th degree, possession of child pornography, and furnishing of pornographic material.
These charges were set after authorities searched his home and found the evidence listed.
He was transported to the Dunklin County Jail on a $250,000 cash only bond, and has a court case set in Kennett for March 10th.
MULTIPLE INJURIES REPORTED FOLLOWING VEHICLE COLLISION IN BUTLER COUNTY
There were multiple injuries that occurred from a vehicle collision in Butler County on Wednesday.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on US Highway 61, north of Poplar Bluff, where a vehicle pulled into the path of another oncoming vehicle.
The driver of both vehicles, and an occupant of the oncoming vehicle, received minor injuries from the crash, and were all transported to a hospital in Poplar Bluff for treatment.
POPLAR BLUFF TORNADO SIRENS TO BE TESTED
The tornado sirens in Poplar Bluff are scheduled to have a test performed on Saturday and Tuesday.
According to the Poplar Bluff Severe Weather Response Team, the first testing will be performed on Saturday between 11 am and 2 pm, with another testing scheduled for Tuesday at 10 am for Missouri’s statewide tornado drill.
Weather radios will be sending alerts at these times, and if there is severe weather on Tuesday’s scheduled testing, it will be moved to March 5th.
