CLEARWATER R-1 ANNOUNCES POTENTIAL COVID-19 EXPOSURE
The Clearwater R-1 school district in Wayne County has announced a possible exposure to the coronavirus.
According to the district, one of the students, who was attending summer classes without being symptomatic of the disease, tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.
Summer school for the District will be canceled on Saturday, and will undergo an extensive sanitization of the building.
THREE RIVERS COLLEGE ALTERS FALL SCHOOL PLAN FOR RETURNING STUDENTS
Three Rivers College has joined many other schools in an altered plan for returning students.
The change in the Fall semester classes include removing breaks for Labor day and Fall break, and making the 24th of November the final day of the semester. Face coverings will also be required to be worn by students, faculty, staff, and visitors while inside all TRC facilities and buildings.
There will also be extended cleaning ethics put in place, guidelines for social distancing, and precautions for those who have been tested for the coronavirus, or have otherwise been put under quarantine.
DRIVER INJURED AFTER CAR COMBUSTS IN BUTLER COUNTY VEHICLE CRASH
A driver was injured in a Butler County vehicle crash early Thursday morning.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a vehicle was traveling on US 60, west of Dexter, where it ran off the roadway and struck an embankment. The vehicle overturned from the crash, then caught on fire.
The driver suffered moderate injuries from the crash, and was transported to a Poplar Bluff hospital for treatment.
BUTLER COUNTY REPORTS 10 NEW CASES OF COVID-19; MISSOURI TOTAL NOW OVER 48,000
Butler County announced that 10 new cases of the coronavirus were reported, while Missouri has seen over 2,000 new cases since yesterday.
According to the Butler County Health Department, the ten new cases have risen the County’s total to 206. Of them, 165 have recovered, and 38 are still in self-isolation. The Department will be working with the CDC to contact anyone who may have been exposed to the virus while the patients were active and infectious.
In Missouri, as of Thursday, there are a total of 48,834 cases of the coronavirus in the state, while 1,233 deaths have been directly linked to the disease.

INJURIES REPORTED FOLLOWING DUNKLIN COUNTY VEHICLE COLLISION
Injuries were reported after a vehicle collision in Dunklin County on Thursday.
Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tell KWOC News that the incident took place on Highway 53, at the northern city limits of Campbell, where a vehicle struck another traveling car on the roadway.
The driver had minor injuries as a result of the crash, and was transported to a Poplar Bluff hospital for treatment.
ROADWAY IN WAYNE COUNTY SCHEDULED TO CLOSE DURING MAINTENANCE
A roadway in Wayne County will be closed while undergoing maintenance.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, Route DD, 1 mile off from Route 34, will be closed while MODOT crews replace a few culverts underneath the roadway.
The work is scheduled to take place on August 4th, from 8 am to 2 pm.
