POPLAR BLUFF MAN KILLED IN VEHICLE CRASH IN BUTLER COUNTY
A Poplar Bluff man was killed in a vehicle crash in Butler County on Saturday.
Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tell KWOC News that the incident took place on US 67, north of Poplar Bluff, where a man driving a scooter was struck by another oncoming vehicle while traveling the wrong way on the roadway.
The driver of the scooter was ejected, who was then run over by the oncoming vehicle.
The driver, 53 year old Gary Arbuckle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
ADDITIONAL CASES OF COVID-19 REPORTED IN BUTLER COUNTY; MISSOURI TOTAL OVER 51,000
More cases of the coronavirus were reported in Butler County, while Missouri’s total has reached over 51,000.
According to the Butler County Health Department, there were 4 new cases reported on Saturday, which brought the County’s total to 210 cases. The Department is working with the CDC to contact anyone who may have been exposed to the virus while the patients were active and infectious.
In Missouri, as of Sunday, there are a total of 51,840 cases of COVID-19 in the state, and 1,253 deaths have been directly linked to the disease.

MAN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN NEW MADRID COUNTY ON DRUG AND FIREARM CHARGES
A man from New Madrid was arrested on drug and firearm charges on Sunday.
According to the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Department, 28 year old Aron Mccormick was taken into custody on felony charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, as well as possession cocaine, and more than 30 grams of marijuana.
Following his arrest, he was transported to the New Madrid County Jail.
MURDER SUSPECT TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN DUNKLIN COUNTY
A murder suspect was arrested in Kennett on Saturday following an investigation by authorities.
According to the Kennett Police Department, 39 year old Eric Petro, of Kennett, was charged on 2nd degree murder, as well as armed criminal action, after authorities responded to a call Friday night about a shooting at Petro’s home.
A man was found lying on the driveway when officials arrived on the scene, and later died of his wounds in a Paragould hospital.
Witness reports state that a gunshot was heard from the house following a heated argument, where Petro was seen leaving the scene in a dark SUV. A bullet casing was found that matched the ammo inside of his home.
He was later taken into custody and booked at the Dunklin County Jail, with no bond.
TWO INJURED FOLLOWING MULTI-VEHICLE CRASH IN BUTLER COUNTY
Two people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash in Butler County on Saturday.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened on Highway 160, south of Poplar Bluff, where three vehicles struck each other while the first car was slowing down on the roadway.
The driver and an occupant of the slowed vehicle received moderate injuries from the crash, and were both transported to a Poplar Bluff hospital for treatment.
ROADWAY SCHEDULED TO CLOSE IN WAYNE COUNTY FOR REPAIRS
A roadway in Wayne County will be closed while undergoing repairs.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, a section of Route CC, 1 mile from Route 49, will be closed while MODOT crews replace a culvert underneath the roadway.
The work is scheduled to take place today, from 8 am to 2 pm.
