NEW CASES OF COVID-19 REPORTED IN BUTLER COUNTY
Additional cases of the coronavirus were reported in Butler County on Tuesday.
According to the Butler County Health Department, five new cases were reported, raising the County’s total to 308 cases. The patients have been self quarantined, and the department will be working with the CDC to contact anyone who may have been exposed to the virus while the patients were active and infectious.
In Missouri, as of Tuesday, there are a total of 70,700 cases of the virus in the state, and 1,477 deaths have been directly linked to the disease.
If you are experiencing any symptoms of the virus, including shortness of breath, fever, and persistent coughing, you are advised to contact your primary healthcare provider before visiting any hospital or emergency room.
ARREST MADE IN RIPLEY COUNTY ON METHAMPHETAMINE POSSESSION
An area man was taken into custody in Ripley County on methamphetamine possession.
Officials with the Ripley County Sheriff’s Department tell KWOC News that 29 year old Joshua Kramer, of Naylor, was arrested in felony possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine early Tuesday morning.
Following his arrest, he was transported to the Ripley County Jail.
TWO INJURED FOLLOWING VEHICLE CRASH IN RIPLEY COUNTY
Two injuries were reported in Ripley County on Tuesday following a vehicle crash.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash took place on Highway P, east of Gatewood, where a vehicle travelled off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected, and travelled off the left side of the roadway. This caused the vehicle to overturn.
The driver was moderately injured and flown to a Cape Girardeau hospital, while an occupant of the car suffered minor injuries, and was transported to a Poplar Bluff hospital for treatment.
TWO TEXAS MEN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN BUTLER COUNTY ON DRUG RELATED CHARGES
Two men from Texas were arrested in Butler County on Tuesday on drug related charges.
According to the Butler County Sheriff’s Department, 32 year old Erica Taylor, of Missouri City, and 44 year old Joshua Emmerson, of Houston, were both charged with felony distribution of a controlled substance - ecstasy, possession of marijuana, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
They were both transported to the Butler County Jail following their arrests.
THEFT INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY IN STODDARD COUNTY
A theft investigation is currently underway in Stoddard County.
According to the Dexter Police Department, video surveillance caught a red late 90s model Chevrolet leaving a home toting a stolen 2009 Cruise camper trailer early Tuesday morning.

ROADWAY IN CARTER COUNTY CLOSED FOR BRIDGE MAINTENANCE
A roadway in Carter County will be closed while undergoing bridge maintenance.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, a section of Route B, between Route 60 and Route K, will be closed while MODOT crews perform bridge repairs.
The work is scheduled to take place today, from 8 am to 3 pm.
