TWO PEMISCOT COUNTY MEN ARRESTED IN MURDER INVESTIGATION

Two men were taken into custody in Pemiscot County in a murder investigation.

Officials with the Pemiscot County Sheriff’s Department tell KWOC News that 22 year old Jamieon Johnson, and 23 year old Andre Haymon, of Hayti, were charged on armed criminal action and suspicion of 1st degree murder on Thursday. These charges stem from an investigation made by authorities in the death of 37 year old Cedric Winters, of Hayti, whose body was found in a pond in Blytheville.

His body was found with gunshot wounds, and Johnson and Haymon were seen dumping the body into the lake. The investigation into Winters’ murder is ongoing, and more arrests are possible.

WOMAN CHARGED IN PARAGOULD AFTER ATTEMPTED ESCAPE FROM CUSTODY

A woman was arrested on Tuesday after attempting to escape from police custody.

According to the Paragould Police Department, 27 year old Mariah Albert, of Jonesboro, was being transported on Tuesday to the Greene County Jail on a felony warrant, where she fled from the police cruiser while it was waiting to enter the Craighead County detention center.

She was later located south of Rockingchair Road, and transported to the Greene County Jail. She was later charged with suspicion of escape, and fleeing from police custody.

ADDITIONAL CASES OF COVID-19 REPORTED IN BUTLER COUNTY; MISSOURI TOTAL NOW OVER 80,000

More cases of the coronavirus were reported in Butler County, while Missouri’s total has passed 80,000.

According to the Butler County Health Department, seven additional cases were reported in the County, raising its total to 371. Of them 287 have recovered, five are currently hospitalized, and 74 are still in self-isolation. The new patients have been isolated, and the department will be working with the CDC to contact anyone who may have been exposed to the disease while the patients were active and infectious.

In Missouri, as of Thursday, there are 80,813 cases in the state, and 1,583 deaths have been linked to the disease.

LAS VEGAS MAN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN NEW MADRID COUNTY ON MULTIPLE DRUG POSSESSION CHARGES

A man from Las Vegas was arrested in New Madrid County on multiple drug possession charges.

According to the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Department, 33 year old Amy Kim was charged with several felony possession of a controlled substance charges, including amphetamine, alprazolam, oxycodone, four counts of possession of ecstasy, and five counts of possession of marijuana.

Following his arrest, he was transported to the New Madrid County Jail.

DRIVER INJURED FOLLOWING BUTLER COUNTY VEHICLE CRASH

A Poplar Bluff driver was injured after his vehicle crashed in Butler County on Thursday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened on US 160, east of Fairdealing, where a vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.

The driver suffered moderate injuries from the incident, and was transported to a Poplar Bluff hospital for treatment.

MAN ARRESTED IN STODDARD COUNTY ON ASSAULT AND ROBBERY CHARGES

A man was taken into custody in Stoddard County on assault and robbery charges.

According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 23 year old Austin Henderson, of Dexter, was booked on 1st degree assault or attempt- serious physical injury or special victim, and 1st degree robbery.

He was transported to the Stoddard County Jail following his arrest, on a $85,000 cash only bond.
