WOMAN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN BUTLER COUNTY ON METHAMPHETAMINE POSSESSION

A woman was arrested in Butler County on Sunday on methamphetamine possession.

According to the Butler County Sheriff’s Department, 33 year old Tiffany Kock, of Troy, was taken into custody on possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving while intoxicated – drugs, as well as multiple motor vehicle misdemeanor charges.

Following her arrest, she was transported to the Butler County Jail.

MORE CASES OF COVID-19 REPORTED IN MISSOURI; STATE TOTAL NOW OVER 114,000

Additional cases of the coronavirus were reported across Missouri yesterday, while the state’s total has gone past 114,000.

According to the Butler County Health Department, 22 new cases were reported on Monday – including cases not reported over the weekend – raising the County’s total cases to 615. In Stoddard County, a total of 31 new cases were confirmed over yesterday and the weekend, making the County’s total cases 507. Of them, 127 are active, and 366 have recovered.

The New Madrid County Health Department has reported 4 new cases, raising the County’s total cases to 496. Of them, 21 are currently active, and 475 are out of quarantine.

In Missouri, as of Monday, there are 114,307 cases of the virus in the state, while 1,807 deaths have been directly linked to the disease.

EARTHQUAKE REPORTED IN NEW MADRID COUNTY

An earthquake was recorded in New Madrid County on Monday.

According to the United States Geological Survey, the quake was reported late last night around 2 miles from Marston, and had a depth of about a mile.

It had a recorded magnitude of 2.4.

TRCC STUDENTS AWARDED SCHOLARSHIPS FOR SCHOOLING

Two Three Rivers College Students have received scholarships for further schooling.

The first scholarship was granted to nursing student David Ladyman, of Greenville, who is currently enrolled in the college’s RN program. He was given the Allison Grace Daughhetee Scholarship. The second was given to TRC graduate Dillon Harper, of Doniphan, who received the Paul and Joe Anne Ripley Scholarship to Southeast Missouri State University.

These scholarships were granted through TRC’s endowment trust program, used to recognize academic achievement, as well as to remedy financial strain on students wishing to further their academic goals.

DRIVER INJURED FOLLOWING VEHICLE CRASH IN BUTLER COUNTY

A driver was injured following a vehicle crash in Butler County on Sunday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened on Route W, west of Wappapello, where a vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a tree.

The driver suffered minor injuries from the crash, and was transported to a Poplar Bluff hospital for treatment.

DEXTER MAN ARRESTED IN STODDARD COUNTY ON DRUG RELATED CHARGES

A Dexter man was taken into custody in Stoddard County on drug possession charges.

According to officials with the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 29 year old Anthony Evans was booked on a state warrant for possession of a controlled substance – except 35 grams or less of marijuana/synthetic cannabinoid.

He was transported to the Stoddard County Jail following his arrest.
