FATALITY REPORTED FOLLOWING VEHICLE COLLISION IN DUNKLIN COUNTY

A driver was killed in a vehicle crash in Dunklin County on Tuesday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision took place on US 412, at County Road 431 east of Kennett, where a vehicle pulled into the path of another oncoming vehicle.

The driver of the oncoming vehicle suffered moderate injuries and was transported to a hospital in Hayti for treatment. The driver of the struck vehicle, 77 year old Will Duboise, was pronounced dead at the scene.

CARUTHERSVILLE MAN CHARGED WITH MURDER IN NEW MADRID COUNTY

A Caruthersville man was taken into custody after shooting his girlfriend in New Madrid County on Monday.

Officials with the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Department tell KWOC News that 19 year old Adam Milburn was booked with 2nd degree murder and armed criminal action after authorities responded to a call of gunfire at a home on State Highway KK near Portageville.

When authorities with the Sheriff’s Department arrived at the scene, they found 18 year old Kerigan Mullins with a fatal gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Milburn reported to authorities during an interview that he was sitting in a vehicle and speaking with Mullins, before he picked up and pointed a handgun at her before firing the gun. He went on to state that he believed the firearm was not loaded at the time of the gun’s discharge.

He was transported to the New Madrid County Jail following his arrest, with no bond. The shooting is currently under investigation by officials with the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Department, and Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control.

POPLAR BLUFF MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO SEXUAL ABUSE CHARGE

A Poplar Bluff man was charged with sexual abuse charges on Thursday.

According to the Carter County Sheriff’s Department, 64 year old Mark Keeney was scheduled to stand trial next week on the felony offenses of 1st degree rape and 1st degree sodomy, however instead issued an Alford plea on 2nd degree sexual abuse.

The charges stem from witness testimony from a woman who accused Keeney of sexually assaulting her at a residential care facility in Butler County in March of 2015, where he allegedly took her and another woman to a hotel against their wishes.

He was sentenced to 330 days in jail after his guilty plea was accepted, and will be placed under two years of supervised probation.

MAN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN DUNKLIN COUNTY ON FIREARM AND WEAPON CHARGES

A man was arrested in Dunklin County on Firearm and Weapon charges on Sunday.

According to the Dunklin County Sheriff’s Department, 40 year old Marley Colburn, of Malden, was taken into custody on unlawful use of a weapon, as well as a felony warrant for unlawful possession of a firearm.

These charges stem from an incident reported at his home on Felix Drive on Sunday, where he pulled out a handgun and began threatening multiple individuals that he had a verbal altercation with.

Following his arrest, he was transported to the Dunklin County Jail, on a $20,000 cash only bond.

QULIN MAN SENTENCED TO TIME IN PRISON ON DRUG RELATED CHARGES

A Qulin man was sentenced to time in prison on multiple drug related charges on Tuesday.

According to the Butler County Sheriff’s Department, 38 year old Jestin Smith was sentenced on possessing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence, as well as possession of marijuana and methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

These charges stem from an investigation made by authorities in August of 2019, where officials issued a search warrant for his home in Qulin. They found marijuana and meth, as well as a few firearms, including a handgun that was stolen from a Poplar Bluff firearm dealer.

He was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison on these charges.

MARSTON MAN ARRESTED IN NEW MADRID COUNTY ON MULTIPLE CHARGES

A Marston man was taken into custody in New Madrid County on Tuesday on multiple charges.

According to the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Department, 32 year old Dennis Gamblin was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, as well as possession of marijuana, resisting arrest, and a Portageville Police Department warrant on property damage.

Following his arrest, he was transported to the New Madrid County Jail.
