ONE DEAD, ONE IN CUSTODY, IN CONNECTION TO BUTLER COUNTY SHOOTING
One man is in custody following a fatal shooting in Butler County.
Butler County Sheriff Mark Dobbs tells KWOC News, that shortly before 11 pm Monday night deputies responded to a report of a person who had been shot in the chest at a location on Butler County Road 309.
The victim, identified as 30 year old Joshua Collins, of Poplar Bluff, was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
One male subject has been taken into custody and is being lodged in the Butler County Justice Center. Dobbs says the name of the suspect is being withheld pending formal charges being filed.
Butler County Coroner Jim Akers tells us that an autopsy for Collins has been scheduled for Wednesday morning in Farmington.
MAN DIES FROM INJURIES RECEIVED IN A MOTORCYCLE WRECK IN NORTHEAST ARKANSAS
One man was involved in a motorcycle wreck Monday afternoon in Northeast Arkansas.
According to the Arkansas State Police, 37 year old Bobby McCormick, of Black Rock, was driving the motorcycle on State Highway 90 in Randolph County when he failed to negotiate a curve and travelled into a ditch.
The motorcycle overturned, causing McCormick to be thrown from the vehicle.
Officials say that McCormick was killed in the wreck.
NO INJURIES REPORTED AFTER A HELICOPTER GOES DOWN IN SOUTHEAST MISSOURI
A helicopter crashed Tuesday afternoon in Southeast Missouri.
According to authorities, the helicopter crashed in a cornfield near a wooded area and Highway N in Cape Girardeau County.
Few details have been released and no injuries have been reported in connection to the crash.
MISSING NORTHEAST ARKANSAS TEENS FOUND SAFE IN SOUTH DAKOTA
Updating a story we brought to you yesterday, two missing teenagers from Northeast Arkansas have been found safe.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, officials received a missing person’s report on Saturday for 17 year old Ashley Darlene Walls and 18 year old Matthew Allen Morrison.
The teens had been out on a day trip beginning at approximately 11:30 am Saturday morning and no one had seen either since.
Officials say that the teens were found safe Tuesday in South Dakota.
MAN ARRESTED FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING IN SOUTHEAST MISSOURI
Authorities in Southeast Missouri say that a man has been taken into custody for drug trafficking.
According to Portageville Police Chief Ronnie Adams, late Saturday night, his officers received a call about a suspicious vehicle.
The vehicle was later located and officers conducted a traffic stop.
Addams says that during the investigation, officers located over 30 grams of methamphetamine.
A 55 year old male, from rural Portageville, was arrested for 2nd degree trafficking of a controlled substance. The name of the man was not released.
MAN FLOWN TO MEMPHIS HOSPITAL FOLLOWING CRASH IN MISSOURI BOOTHEEL
A man has been flown to an area hospital after being involved in a wreck in the Missouri Bootheel.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred Tuesday morning on Route D, south of Caruthersville.
70 year old Danny Watkins, of Caruthersville, was pulling from a private drive when his vehicle was struck by an oncoming vehicle.
Watkins suffered serious injuries in the wreck and was flown to a Memphis hospital.
