MISSOURI STATE OF EMERGENCY EXTENDED THROUGH AUGUST

Missouri Governor Mike Parson has extended the State of Emergency that was in effect to assist continued Covid-19 recovery.

On Friday, Governor Parson signed Executive Order 21-07 extending the state of emergency through August 31st.

Parson says that the extension will allow the state continued flexibility in providing resources and easing regulatory burdens to further assist Missouri’s COVID-19 recovery efforts.

It also allows for continued utilization of the Missouri National Guard and federal funding for COVID-19 response efforts.

 

SOUTHEAST MISSORUI TEEN GIRL FOUND SAFE AFTER REPORT OF ABDUCTION

Authorities have found a 15-year-old Southeast Missouri girl and canceled an Amber Alert that was issued after a relative reported that the teen had been abducted.

According to Charleston police, the teen was walking home after dropping her sister off at a bus stop when a family member saw someone take her to the ground and then put her into a black SUV. The relative then called 911.

The teen was later found safe walking along a county road, but the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the suspect vehicle has not been found.


MAN ARRESTED IN BUTLER COUNTY ON FORGERY WARRANT

A Poplar Bluff man has been arrested on a forgery warrant. 

Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tell KWOC News that 46 year old Carl Capper was taken into custody Friday night on a Butler County warrant for forgery as well as a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance for methamphetamine. 

Capper is also facing charges of unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. 

 

POPLAR BLUFF WOMAN ARRESTED ON FLEEING CHARGE

Authorities in Butler County arrested a Poplar Bluff woman Friday night on multiple felony charges.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 26 year old Mickala Ramsey was taken into custody shortly before 10 pm on felony charges of tampering with a motor vehicle, resisting arrest by fleeing, and possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.

Ramsey is also facing charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while revoked, and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway, resulting in an accident. 

 

POPLAR BLUFF ROAD TO BE CLOSED TODAY

City officials have announced that a Poplar Bluff road will be closed for a culvert replacement.

According to the Poplar Bluff Street Department, Cravens Road will be closed today in order to replace a large storm water culvert.

The closure will be located just south of the Ozark Ridge Golf Course entrance. 

 

CULVERT REPLACEMENT TO FORCE CLOSURE OF SOUTHERN BUTLER COUNTY ROAD

Route N in Butler County will be closed today and tomorrow so Missouri Department of Transportation crews can replace a culvert under the roadway.

Officials with MoDOT tell KWOC news that the section of Route N to be closed is located between County Roads 245 and 236.

Weather permitting, work will take place from 8 am to 3 pm both today and tomorrow.

 

MISSISSIPPI RIVER BRIDGE TO BE CLOSED THIS WEEK

A bridge over the Mississippi River will be closed again this week for inspection.

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, the US Highway 60/62 bridge over the Mississippi River will be closed to all traffic so crews can perform the required annual safety inspection.

The closure is scheduled to begin at 8 am this morning and extend through Thursday, April 1st, at noon. Officials say that the bridge will be open to all traffic from 5 pm to 8 am each night.
