COVID 19 VACCINE CLINIC TO BE HELD TODAY IN MALDEN
Multiple area agencies are teaming up for a vaccine clinic today in Malden.
The Dunklin County Health Department, in conjunction with the Butler County Health Department and the Missouri National Guard, is hosting a Covid-19 vaccine clinic from 8 am to 2 pm at the Malden Airport.
The clinic will be for anyone 18 years of age or older who needs the first or second dose of the Moderna Vaccine. Officials say that no appointment will be necessary for the clinic.
POPLAR BLUFF GOLFER FINISHES IN TOP 10 AT STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
A Poplar Bluff High School golfer has finished in the top 10 of the MSHSAA Class 5 State Golf Championship.
Alexander Wiseman shot 67 for Round one on Monday and 75 for round two on Tuesday to finish the tournament at four over par, which put him in a tie for 7th with three other golfers.
A total of 79 golfers competed at the State Championship, which was held at Sedalia Country Club.
RUNWAY CONSTRUCTION TO BEGIN TODAY AT POPLAR BLUFF AIRPORT
A construction project is set to get underway today at the Poplar Bluff Municipal Airport.
According to the Municipal Airport Facebook page, the airport will be closed to fixed wing traffic for 30 days beginning this morning.
The closure is due to new runway construction at the airport.
SEARCH FOR WANTED PERSON LEADS TO TWO ARRESTS IN WAYNE COUNTY
A search for a wanted person Tuesday in Wayne County led to a drug bust.
Wayne County Sheriff Dean Finch tells KWOC News that deputies responded to a residence Tuesday in Williamsville as a part of the search.
While searching the residence, deputies found Matthew Clatt and Katina Millhouse, who were both arrested for warrants. Deputies also discovered methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia during the search.
Finch says that both Millhouse and Clatt were booked at the Wayne County Jail and charges are pending.
WAPPAPELLO MAN FACING CHARGE OF HAVING DRUGS INSIDE A COUNTY JAIL
A Wappapello man is facing multiple drug related charges in connection to his arrest Monday night.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 60 year old Jon Hise was arrested on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance inside a county jail.
Following the arrest, Hise was held at the Wayne County Jail.
SURFACE IMPROVEMENTS SET FOR TODAY IN BUTLER COUNTY
Crews with the Missouri Department of Transportation will be in Butler County today to make driving surface improvements on Route EE.
According to MoDOT, crews will be on Route EE from 6:30 am to 5 pm today. The work zone will be located from Route 142 to County Road 260.
During the repairs, flaggers and a pilot car will be in place to guide traffic.
