PUXICO FIRE DEPARTMENT OFFERING FREE SMOKE ALARMS
The Puxico Fire Department is offering free smoke alarms.
According to a post on the Puxico Fire and Rescue Facebook page, the Fire Department has received a shipment of smoke alarms from the American Red Cross and the alarms are free to the public.
The Fire Department will also come and install them for you. The post says that the goal is to get alarms installed in every residential home in the fire district.

KENNETT MAN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY ON DRUG AND WEAPON CHARGES IN DUNKLIN COUNTY
A Kennett man was taken into custody over the weekend on multiple felony charges.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 28 year old Scotty Johnson, was arrested shortly after 6 pm Saturday evening on felony charges of delivery of a controlled substance – marijuana, possession of a controlled substance – marijuana, and unlawful use of a weapon.
Following his arrest, Johnson was transported to the Dunklin County Jail.
JOSH BURSON MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT SET FOR THIS WEEK
The 12th Annual Josh Burson Memorial Golf Tournament is set for June 19th at the Ozark Ridge Golf Course in Poplar Bluff.
The 4 man scramble tournament costs $75 per person to enter and will begin at 1 pm. The tournament will be followed by a dinner beginning at 6 pm at Holiday Inn. The dinner will also have an auction and raffles.
All proceeds will go to the Josh Burson Memorial Scholarship Fund.

SIXTY-TWO CITATIONS AND WARNINGS ISSUED DURING DEXTER CLICK IT OR TICKET MOBILIZATION
Officials with the Dexter Police Department tell us that sixty-two traffic citations and warnings were issued as a part of a click it or ticket mobilization held in late May.
The mobilization from May 24th through June 6th was a part of a statewide effort to get more motorists to buckle up.
Of the sixty-two citations and warnings issued, 15 were for motorists not wearing their seat belts.
TWO INJURED IN STODDARD COUNTY WRECK
Two people were injured in a single vehicle wreck in Stoddard County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the wreck occurred Monday morning on US Highway 60, 2 miles east of Fisk, when a vehicle ran off the roadway, struck a guardrail, then overturned, ejecting the driver.
A passenger in the vehicle suffered minor injuries while the driver received moderate injuries. Both were transported by ambulance to an area hospital.
FEED AND SEED EVENT SET FOR THIS WEEK IN POPLAR BLUFF
New Day Ministry in Poplar Bluff will be hosting a feed and seed event this week.
The event is from 3 to 5 pm on June 17th and is first come, first serve, with packs limited to one per household.
