THREE INJURED, ONE IN CUSTODY IN CONNECTION TO POPLAR BLUFF STABBING

Three people were transported to area hospitals Tuesday following a stabbing in Poplar Bluff.

According to authorities, the stabbing occurred Tuesday near the intersection of Lester and 10th streets.

One person has been taken into custody in connection to the incident and their name is being withheld at this time.

SUMMER SCHOOL CLASSES CANCELLED TODAY IN POPLAR BLUFF

The Poplar Bluff School District has announced that academic summer school classes have been cancelled for today.

According to school officials, the cancellation is due to the loss of critical data infrastructure components from a power outage Tuesday afternoon.

High School Sports and Driver’s Education sessions will still meet as scheduled, but transportation will not be provided.

WOMAN FLOWN FROM THE SCENE OF A DUNKLIN COUNTY WRECK 

A woman was flown from the scene of a wreck early Tuesday morning in the Missouri Bootheel.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 27 year old Britany Doss, of Senath, was travelling on Route N in Dunklin County at around 4 am when her vehicle ran off the side of the roadway, struck a ditch, and overturned.

Doss suffered serious injuries in the wreck and was flown to a Memphis hospital. 

 

HIGHWAY PATROL COMPLETES ANNUAL SCHOOL BUS INSPECTIONS 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol has announced the results of the 2021 annual school bus inspection program.

For the Poplar Bluff School District, over 91 percent of the district’s busses were approved, while just under 9 percent were listed as defective, which means they require repair within 10 days.

None of Poplar Bluff’s 45 school buses were placed out of service, which would require correction prior to further usage.

BUTLER COUNTY ROAD CLOSED FOR CULVERT REPLACEMENT

Route W in Butler County will be closed today as Missouri Department of Transportation crews replace a culvert beneath the roadway.

Officials tell KWOC News the section of roadway is located between County Road 533 and County Road 508.

Work is scheduled to take place today from 7 am to 4 pm.

ROAD OVERLAYING SET FOR TODAY IN POPLAR BLUFF

Road crews will be working today in Poplar Bluff.

According to the Poplar Bluff Street Department, crews will be overlaying High Street between Channon Drive and Baugh Lane.

The repairs are scheduled to begin at 9 am this morning and no timetable was given for when the project would be completed.
