KENNETT TO BE INSPECTING CITY FIRE HYDRANTS THIS SUMMER
Kennett City Light, Gas, and Water has announced their annual fire hydrant inspection, maintenance, and flushing program will be done this summer.
All fire hydrants will be subject to inspection, maintenance, and testing from 8 am to 4:30 pm on Monday through Thursday until September 30th.
During testing in your neighborhood, you may notice a drop in water pressure, with pressure returning once testing is complete. Water may also become slightly discolored. The discolored water is nonhazardous but can stain clothing.
Officials suggest running water from one or more faucets for several minutes to clear the water.
If you have any additional questions, contact Kennett City Light, Gas, and Water at 573-888-5366.
REPORTS OF CATALYTIC CONVERTER THEFTS INCREASING IN ARKANSAS
Arkansas state officials are urging state residents to take steps to prevent catalytic converter thefts.
Attorney General Leslie Rutledge tells KWOC News that catalytic converter thefts are on the rise and thieves are stealing the devices from all types of automobiles for their precious metals.
A catalytic converter is an EPA-approved exhaust emission control device that is usually found beneath the vehicle as part of the exhaust system.
Rutledge says that whenever possible you should park in well-lit areas or inside your garage if possible. You can also calibrate your car’s alarm system to alert you when it detects vibrations or consider having the catalytic converter welded to your car’s frame, making it harder to steal.
