COVID 19 VACCINE CLINIC SCHEDULED FOR TODAY AT BESS ACTIVITY CENTER
Two vaccine clinics are scheduled for this week in Butler County.
Officials with the Butler County Health Department tell KWOC News that the first clinic will be held today from 9 am to 1 pm at the Bess Activity Center on the campus of Three Rivers College. No appointment will be necessary for today’s clinic and walk-ins are welcome.
A second clinic will be held Friday at the Butler County Health Department. An appointment is required for that clinic and can be made by calling 573-785-8478.
Officials say that the clinics are for the 1st and 2nd doses of the Moderna Vaccine.
KENNETT TO PLAY FOR STATE BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP TODAY
The Kennett Indians are one win away from a state baseball championship.
Kennett defeated Lafayette 11-4 on Tuesday in the Class 4 state Semi-final in Ozark. The Indians were down 4-2 after the 6th inning, but used two three run home runs as part of a nine run top of the 7th to power their way to the victory.
Kennett will play Blair Oaks in the Class 4 Championship game this evening. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 pm.
MAN ARRESTED IN STODDARD COUNTY ON ASSAULT AND BURGLARY CHARGES
A man has been taken into custody in Stoddard County on assault and burglary charges.
According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 30 year old Brandon Michael Coffee, was recently booked on two counts of 3rd degree assault, as well as charges of 2nd degree property damage and 1st degree burglary.
Officials say that Coffee’s bond was set at $5,000, cash or surety.
CARUTHERSVILLE POLICE RECEIVE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS REGARDING AIFSOFT GUNS
Authorities in a Southeast Missouri town say they have received multiple complaints regarding airsoft guns.
According to the Caruthersville Police Department, they have received numerous complaints from citizens about being shot by individuals who possess airsoft rifles and guns.
The complaints say that as unwitting subjects are walking or driving up or down a roadway, individuals are shooting the airsoft weapons at them.
Some of the parties believed during the incidents that someone was pointing a real weapon at them. There have also been complaints of several individuals running through yards with the weapons.
Caruthersville Police are asking any and all individuals who are involved in these acts to not point or shoot the weapons at anybody who is not willing to play the game and to stay off property that belongs to others.
RAIN CAUSES DELAYS FOR BUTLER COUNTY BRIDGE REPAIRS
Rainy weather this week has caused delays for some planned MoDOT work in Butler County.
According to MoDOT, Route HH in Butler County will be closed today from County Road 253 to County Road 244 for bridge repairs. The repairs had originally been scheduled to be done on Wednesday.
Route HH is set to be closed today from 7 am to 4:30 pm.
US 67 IN WAYNE COUNTY TO BE REDUCED TODAY
A portion of North and Southbound U.S. Route 67 will be reduced to one lane today with a 15-foot width restriction as Missouri Department of Transportation crews repair the bridge over the St. Francis River.
The work zone will be located between County Road 509 and Business U.S. 67 in Wayne County.
Work is scheduled to take place from 7:30 am to 4 pm today.
