POPLAR BLUFF INDUSTRIES PURCHASES OVER 50 ACRES OF LAND
Plans are underway for a new industrial park in Poplar Bluff.
According to the Greater Poplar Bluff Area Chamber of Commerce, Poplar Bluff Industries recently made a purchase of a 54 acre tract of land.
The land is located next to Hydro Adventures and will be used for a new industrial park.
Poplar Bluff Industries is the economic development arm of the Poplar Bluff Chamber of Commerce.
OZARK BORDER ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE MEETING SET FOR NEXT WEEK
Ozark Border Electric Cooperative will be holding their annual meeting next week.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 am on August 6th. Drive through registration and voting will be from 7 am to 2 pm, followed by the business meeting at 2:30 pm.
The meeting will be held at the Ozark Border headquarters, located on South Westwood Boulevard in Poplar Bluff.
WOMAN ARRESTED IN BUTLER COUNTY ON MULTIPLE DRUG RELATED CHARGES
A St. Robert woman was taken into custody Monday in Butler County on multiple drug related charges.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 36 year old Andrea Gibbons was arrested at around 7:30 am and is facing charges of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance at a correctional facility.
She also reportedly had a warrant from the Dexter Police Department for stealing.
Officials say that Gibbons was held at the Butler County Jail.
DRIVE THROUGH SCHOOL READINESS EVENT TO BE HELD IN RIPLEY COUNTY
A drive through school readiness event has been scheduled for this week in Ripley County.
The event will be held at the Current River Shelter Workshop in Doniphan from 9 am to 1 pm on July 23rd.

ROAD IN STODDARD AND NEW MADRID COUNTIES TO BE CLOSED THIS WEEK FOR REPAIRS
Route UU in New Madrid and Stoddard Counties will be closed for part of this week so Missouri Department of Transportation crews can perform pavement repairs.
The work zone is located from Route D in New Madrid County to the end of state maintenance in Stoddard County.
Weather permitting, work will take place from 6:30 am to 4:30 pm daily through Thursday.
PAVEMENT REPAIRS SET FOR TODAY IN STODDARD COUNTY
Route KK in Stoddard County will be reduced to one lane through Thursday as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs.
The section of roadway to be reduced is located from Route 114 to the end of state maintenance.
Weather permitting, work will take place today through Thursday from 8 am to 4 pm, daily.
